i'm off to get drunk, but you guys, uhhh.. won? i'd say three points is worth a rematch, but we had our chance and i hope someone else earns a shot at osu. by the by, when i say you won with a question mark, i meant in the context of who's a legitimate #2. my only wish is that jim tressel was more of an a-hole so i had reason to hate him. osu is class. and honestly, i wish we traded wins every other other year rather than having to endure these dry spells. it evens out eventually, but it's hard to deal with it as it comes. i'm just glad i came of age during the cooper years and regard osu losses as anomalies, though i seem to feel less and less that way every year.

At least we can put to rest any worries about OSU not showing class regarding Bo.

No issues anywhere. Class all around. Great atmosphere, great game.

The better team won but neither D was really in this game. The offenses were thoroughly dominant on both sides.

Bottom line, OSU ran the table wire to wire and they earned it and they showed class all along the way. Michigan has nothing whatsoever to be ashamed about with this loss. Great effort under incredible duress.

CF rules.

We are definately the second best team in the land.

Rematch...no. Nothing good could come of it. We win and get the MNC with a split...unsatifying.

OSU wins 2 games in one season vs us for a MNC? Boring!

Good luck Buckeyes...we had our opportunities. Bring on whoever in the Rose Bowl.

Thank You for using up your eligability T. Smith.

I'm not going to cry foul about Michigan not getting a chance a national title but I too think they are no worse than 3rd in the nation after today's game. I wouldn't have too big of a beef with USC playing the Buckeyes if they win out...you think about the teams the Trojans would have to beat to get there, they have one of the toughest schedules in the country. My only thing I'll say on Michigan's behalf is their one loss was by 3 points against the undisputed #1 team in the country and USC lost in OT to a mediocre Oregon State team.

I give the Buckeyes all the credit in the world for winning today. The second half was there for the taking and the Wolverines missed a few chances to seize control of the ballgame and ultimately, their chance to secure a berth to the whole Shamorama Bowl in Glendale. It was a lot of fun to watch...I was on the edge my seat the whole way. Smith played a great first half but I also tip my cap to the sweater vest for absolutely neutralizing Michigan's pass rush and exploited matchup problems in the secondary by going with 4 and 5 wides on several plays. I don't know if I'm the first to say this but I look at Ohio State's offense a lot like New England's offense during the Weis days. The whole idea of a QB with a good touch and has plenty of weapons to spread the ball around to. People want to make the shortsided comparisons to Vince Young...I think Troy Smith has a lot of qualities Tom Brady has. Smith only ran the ball once...he won the game and has been successful this year by using his quality passing ability. He's a legitmate passing QB that happens to have good mobility. He's a guy that will play well on Sundays even though he is undersized.

From the Michigan side of things, I was disappointed in the run defense. The one thing I thought I could count on was that Ohio State wouldn't beat them on the ground but they got not one but two huge running plays for scores and the Pittman play was pretty much all they had done up until their final score during the second half. Ohio State clearly won the first half but I credit Carr and English for making adjustments at halftime and they got a quick stop and starting establishing Hart on the ground to get them back in the game. Hart is an absolute monster...I don't know where they would be without him. Oh wait, I know...they'd probably be 7-5 again like last year. I hope he stays another year because he'd be my pick for the Heisman going into next year. Also, I want to give props to Henne. He worried me a little that he would make the one costly mistake to lead to a go-ahead or winning score. With the exception of a few poor throws, he had a game that was good enough for him to lead Michigan to a win. He is in no way the goat for today's loss. I credit today's win to Smith's great first half, Tressel's gameplay to spread out the Michigan secondary and neutralize the vaunted pass rush, and Michigan not making enough plays in the second half to fully take advantage of the three turnovers. The Crable penalty was the right call and the Buckeyes like the champions they are, broke the backs of the Wolverines with getting the final TD.

Good luck to the Buckeyes in the Tostitos Flawed System Championship Game...not bitter about the loss, still hate the whole system regardless. Michigan's season is pretty much over with since the Rose Bowl is taken down even another notch with the institution of this fifth imaginary game. I'd compare it to the BCS being a dismembered limb and the fifth money game is nothing more than a bandaid to fix the problem.

Just checking in to give OSU props. Hell of a game, MIchigan had their chances, Michigan could of won, but just as the last three years...OSU did win.

Congrats on your National Championship.

Unless there is a rematch, then I like Michigan. :)

I thought Hart's comments at the press conference were a little low class. However, he is a little bulletin board material if ND or USC get into the game:
"The game I'm looking at is probably Notre Dame-USC," Barton said. "I'm thinking the winner of that is going to be our opponent."

Barton said this before Cal-USC kicked off. But given the Trojans' run the past few years, there are a few Buckeyes who would like a shot a them.

"I always wanted to play them," Richardson said. "I've heard too much about them."

Barton said he'd prefer USC over the Fighting Irish.

"I'll be rooting against Notre Dame," Barton said. "I'm not a big fan of their coach and the program."

This might have been the Champagne talking. Or not. The guy is 6-foot-6 and 310 pounds, so I'd imagine it would take more than a glass or two to make Barton silly.

But pressed for details on why he doesn't like the Fighting Irish -- whom the Buckeyes whipped 36-20 last year in the Fiesta Bowl -- Barton didn't back off very far.

"I don't know," he said, before going sarcastically diplomatic. "They're a great program, they're Notre Dame -- whoo."

Pause.

"They couldn't handle us."

After seeing the postgame shots of the field, the best D in the Shoe was executed by the Columbus Police in their patented "Triangle Prevent" that protected the goalposts.

This was the most enjoyable game I've seen all year. I was kinda blown away that it turned into a PAC 10 game, and the PAC 10 game turned into a Big 11 game... but that's why we play the game.

I was expecting a defensive struggle with the kinda D's both teams have, or maybe the O's just weren't very good in the Big 11 and Michigan and Ohio State had very good O's.

I think if $C wins out... they should go.

If Michigan choosen, I'm good with it.

If I'm Buckeye Fan that pic is getting turned into a framed poster on my wall. Awesome.

Best part about it is the lone Buckeye being chased in futility by EIGHT Wolverines...with the massive OSU lineman behind 'em all already signaling "TD" as a perfect backdrop...

It almost looks like the Keystone Cops and a successful bank heist.

Okay, skull, tell us exactly how much and why you hate Tejas?

Pie charts, Mengele like narratives, ESPN style "Breakdowns", the whole enchilada. It's your bar-b-que...

5-1... wow. I really didn't think they would win this year. I was pretty nervous.

Only half way to erasing Coop's 2-10-1 record.
