The longtime Padres broadcaster is this years' recipient of the Ford Frick award.
I've never heard the man, but I've heard of some of his famous calls:
(Courtesy of "The Ball Clubs" by Donald Dewey and Nicholas Acocella)
"Rich Folkers is throwing up in the bullpen".
"We're all sad to see Glenn Beckert leave. Before he goes, though, I hope
he stops by so we can kiss him goodbye. He's that kind of a guy".
"George Hendrick simply lost that sun-blown popup".
"Grubb goes back, back, he's under the warning track, and he makes the play".
"There's a fly ball to deep center field. Winfield is going back, back...
He hits his head against the wall. It's rolling toward second base!"
"He slides into second with a standup double".
"Those amateur umpires are certainly flexing their fangs today".

“If you look at folks of color, even women, they’re more
successful in the Democratic Party than they are in the white, uh,
excuse me, in the Republican Party.” (NPR Interview Of Howard Dean

RACK The Colonel,
I grew up listening to the man, he is what I think of when I think of baseball.
All you doubters read up on a bio of his life, not just on his hilarious gaffs.
Rookie of the Year, World Series Rings, Teammate of Mantle and Dimagio, Padres Broadcaster for 30+ yearsand;
"But the 80-year-old Coleman may have distinguished himself most as a Marine pilot in both World War II and in the Korean War. He earned two Distinguished Flying Crosses, 13 Air Medals and three Navy Citations while flying 120 missions and rising to the rank of lieutenant colonel. "
Its about time.

Your on councilman.
And if I want a homo love fest, then that is my business, next time don't bite so hard when I cum.
Sorry but Peavy is the ACE. Can you say 2004 national league ERA leader.
Spin away about Bonds, we all know if you saw Bonds in person you would drop trou and back towards him.
Actually funny thing about that press conference, the media and opposing fans are going to be so far into Bar-roid's head dude is going to be a mental case by opening day.

I was disappointed that Tom Cheek didn't win the award this year especially in light of his iron man streak of 27 years coming to an end last season.
Cheek had called every Blue Jays game since their inception in 1977 until learning of his father's death on June 3.
He missed that night's broadcast to join his family in Salinas, Calif., ending a 27-year streak of 4,306 consecutive regular-season games plus 41 post-season games.
Then battled back and made it into the booth to call a few innings late last season after being diagnosed with a brain tumor.
Maybe next year.
Props to Coleman for his achievements.
