I totally get into bikes and why people ride them.

That story is exactly why I wouldn't ride one here in Cali other than a weekend cruise up to the mountains. Mix in a couple thousand Mexican Illegals who just figured out STOP is the same word as ALTO but in American.

People are in a hurry all the time so they can rush home and do nothing meaningful but eat chips and watch TV. You,actually getting out in the out of doors and doing something fun brings them down and makes them feel like slugs, thus there impulse moves to screw/flaten you.

Brighten your day, and ours, and please post the pic of the chick at THE gas station.

Ever see people cut through a parking lot by slicing through the gaps between parked cars? They usually do it at about 45 mph.

Idiot drivers in parking lots are one of my biggest pet peeves.

Parking lots are filled with kids, old people, teenagers, motorcycles, shopping zombies, ETC., so unless you like the idea of a manslaughter conviction, do the Blues Brothers driving gig somewhere else.

I'm sure I've probably logged over 100K miles on a motorcycle, and incurred more injuries in a car than I have on a bike.

Just sayin'

Not quite the death-machine people make it out to be. But it does make Darwin perk his ears up a little bit when the stupid people climb on them.

"Momentarily distracted driver"...maybe. That whole "alertness" thing really comes into play.

As far as "little pebble" and "bit of water"...it's abundantly clear you've never ridden a motorcyle.

A "little pebble" nor a "bit of water" has no appreciable effect on a motorcycle travelling at the kinds of speeds that result in hamburger.

Sin,
Dude who used to ride year-round in a place that covered with puddles all winter, and where they apply gravel all over the roads when it gets icy, and never once had a problem with such things.

I spilled at about 5MPH when it was icy, and I had to grab a bug handfull of brake as I was going through a patch of gravel. Front brake lockup=bail.

The only other spills I ever took were due to excessive speed. Fucked up some nerves in my left pinky, apart from that, the bikes haven't done nearly the damage that the cars have.

I feel your pain, bro.

People walk right in front of me all the time and I have to slam on the god damn brakes. I was battling the crowds of people at Best Buy on Friday and more than one asshole totally cut me off, then stared at me. They were either glaring at me or just staring cause I'm crippled. Annoying either way, man.

Also, there are an awful lot of wireless electronics at a Best Buy store. My ride was tripping balls when I rolled into the video game area. My chair started going crazy like a low rider in a Dr. Dre video. I think it was the Wii. As if the whole concept of a wii doesn't make me depressed enough.

Ok... that must be why I saw this jerkoff errrrr dude riding his bicycle in the snow this morning.

I take the OL to the train this morning, and do just fine in my F 350 Super Duty 4X4 dually. In fact , everyone stay the fuck away from me. So were waiting there and one of these mensa bike rider's trys to make a turn on his skinny bike tires and he fucking dumps it real HARD. Now being the prick I am, I laff my ass off at the dude, as I sit in my nice warm truck.

A couple of deputy's walking to Starbucks walk's over there, help's dude up and he goes on his way, even after one deputy said you might want to rethink the bike thing in a couple inches of snow and slush. Fuck that idiot.

Then I see at least 3 other cars spin out....( snow/slush + excessive speed for conditions = wreck) and just fucking laff.

Now I used to ride a fair amount myself. I took my cheap Huffy on a 400 mile 6 day ride way back in 1989. I got cut off and dumped on Hwy 101 down at Salishan in 1991. That really got me to thinking....

and then you can read any of the fish wraps up here and in the summer, I dare to say there is not a FUCKING WEEK that goes by, that somebody does not get wasted, killed, ran over, splatted, generally fucked up on a bike.

Now comparing bicycle riding to sex shows that you have your priorities all fucked up. Flying is a bit different,,, not as good as sex, but a lot of fun. The last time I went flying, I can tell you that nobody got even close to the plane, I saw about 7 other aircraft within 10 miles of me in about 5 hours and 400 miles of flying.

Those odds seem substantially better than riding a lightweight bicycle next to speeding cars that out weigh you by A LOT, that are going a LOT FASTER than you are, and WILL win the collision.

Roll the fucking dice, 3 near misses says your due for the big one. Human head collisions with windshield frames usually result in SEVERE head injury orrr ...even gasp... death.....which really rid's the gene pool of morons that do not understand physics at all, want to buck the odds and blame it all on the mother fucking car drivers that don't yield to the faggots on their tricycles??? Bwwaaahaaaa....

Did you know that such a collision will rearrange the shape of your dome so much that your face can become over 16 inches long, and will result in a closed casket service, since no one would recognize you any way ??

Yeah, but if you throw out the wannabe hippies on Hawthorne who think that crosswalks are both the end-all/be-all, and include bikes in those that have right-of-way, there's not that many.

RACK!

Btw -- I'd recommend attaching an orange flag to your ride. People may notice you a little better and might not cut you off so much. Then again, you are a freak riding around in a chair. It's a bit distracting.

SS.....that's why I like riding in groups. It's amazing how much smarter drivers are when there's someone else there to kick their ass for pulling a stupid move.

I never ride when the temp gets below 35 degrees. Doing so only invites unnecessary danger. I saw a guy riding home from work today & had to wonder what he was thinking if he rode to work in the morning (icier than shit this morning).

Lastly, from what I've seen in the news most accidents involve idiots on crotch rockets. Take away all the accidents involving those bikes being ridden by someone under 25 & you're left with a fraction of accidents.

This is why these motorcycles are reffered to as " Donor cycles".

With out donor cycles, the amount of harvestable organs would go down.

With out 18 to 30 year old men, EMS, Life Flights, cops would have very little to do.

Are you suggesting government intervention to prevent these accidents from happening in the first place?

We could start by outlawing motorcycle riding when it’s foggy out.

I'm suggesting that taking a 21 year old who has a sense of invincibility coupled with little-to-no street riding experience, then putting him on a motorcycle that does 0-60 in 2 seconds flat fits into Darwin's grand scheme of things.

The "liberal" in me is also suggesting that instead of charging these people outrageous insurance premiums, the government should subsidize people such as this to buy open-class sportbikes. The Van's of the world get their commision(after checking with the manager upstairs...he's in a pretty good mood today), and society is rid of stupid people, thereby strengthening the gene pool.

Win/win.

THAT'S IT!!!! In stead of spending all that money on bombs and whatsuch, we should used the DoD budget to arm warring Islamic factions with sportbikes and lances. It would be like modern-day jousting for Arabs. And we could even recoup some DoD expenses by selling off the television rights.

Where did I suggest that???? Tin foil hat much?

The only suggestion I might make is greater enforcement effort towards eliminating the reckless riding by these idiots.

You might want to check that ol' date under 1SmoothG's nic. You might find he registered the same week you did.

And posted on ToT. And Hostboard. And SC3.

And in that time, has made much more worthwhile contributions than you could ever dream of...like as in he's actually funny and entertaining.
