RTP--Admit it, Ovechkin deserves a suspension...

I know he's your boy and I enjoy watching him play but last night's hit from behind on Briere into the bench door was a cheap shot and warrants a suspension of several games. On HNIC, the suggestion by Scott Oakes was 5 games...I think that's a fair amount. These hits need to be phased out of the game.

Briere: It's tough to say whether he deserves a suspension
He doesn't agree with you
Ovechkin, voted the #2 star of the game came out in a t-shirt & shorts and carrying a stick to do the curtain call
Hohoho A game misconduct and he still gets a game star

Scott Oake is hardly a measuring stick for league discipline.

Rat's right, it doesn't merit a suspension.

Watch the video. Ovechkin was tracking Briere, then Briere suddenly slowed/stopped to go off the ice. Ovechkin pulled back and really only bumped him. Briere, the lightweight that he is, just wasn't expecting to be hit, so he lost his balance like a 5 year old. Then Ovechkin gets 5 for fighting? Ovechkin didn't even throw a single punch and yet he gets 5 for fighting?

And meanwhile, Briere rolls around on the ice doing his best soccer player impersonation for a while, then plays the next shift, just like a Euro soccer player.
Briere should have been handed an unsportsmanlike conduct penalty for his piss poor acting performance.
Bottom line is, Ovechkin pulled up and did not finish the check, he doesn't deserve to be suspended.

Of course, Otis is 100% correct.

I'm not surprised that Old Boy Shoalzie caves into the HNIC mob mentality.

The real question is how long should 6'4" - 220 lb Paul Gaustad be suspended for jumping ATG from behind over a non-issue. If Briere was a non-Canadian I doubt HNIC would even mention it.

The Sabres put 7 guys on the ice as retaliation. That should be a 3 game suspension for Ruff. Where's your outrage at that, Sholzie?

I was adressing the Ovechkin hit...the retaliation from the Sabres deserves a punishment as well.

What?

Guy cheap shots a guy and is then toomuch of a pussy to stand up for himself? He deserves what he gets. Plus did you see the beating Muir took from Mair on the same play. Ovechkin deserves the blame for that one as well.

More class from the "Golden Boy." Maybe if he didn't spend so much time deciding who he should trash talk when winning or cheap shot in the back he might actually realise Crosby is blowing him out of the water this season.

At least Moon is consistent with not having a clue what he's talking about.

ATG has 28 points
Bottomboy has 34 points

That's hardly blowing him out of the water. Only a complete moron would even make that statement with less than 30 games actually played.

Admit it, moon...you're just a hater.

I admit it I hate guys who cheap shots guys in the back, trash talk when winning and quit when losing. And yes Crosby is blowing Ovechkin out of the water with his play.

No he's not. You're a fool..

ATG 4 game winning goals
BB 2 game winning goals

ATG 13 PP points
BB 11 PP points

Go away... you have no clue about anything.

Let's look at some more stats that prove moon is a fool..

last 5 minute points ATG - 11
last 5 minute points BB - 10

Clutch ATG - 6
Clutch BB - 5

SOG ATG - 133
SOG BB - 61

Points in a loss ATG - 13
Points in a loss BB -13

lol I see the shot total and points in a loss doesn't really reflect your dumbass theory about ATG quitting.

It's official!

No suspension for ATG. Therefore, there was no cheapshot. It was an unfortunate situation where ATG was tracking Briere and circumstances left Briere's back exposed.

It's all a moot point now.
