Yet another example of the clusterfuck that is flexible scheduling.
Here's the posting from PFT...
FINS-BILLS GAME MOVED BACK TO 1:00
The NFL has moved the December 17 game between the Dolphins and the Bills back to 1:00 p.m. EST, a day after shifting the game to 4:05 p.m. EST.
"We spoke to CBS today and told them we did not believe the shift to a later start time was in the fans' best interest,” a league spokesman said. “We regret the inconvenience that we may have caused fans who are planning to attend the game or watch on television that day."
So why the move in the first place? Well, in all weeks in which the flex scheduling thing applies, the original slate of games listed all of them with a kickoff of 1:00 p.m. local time. Then, once a game gets moved to 8:15 p.m. EST on NBC, the league "hand picks" the contests that will move to 4:15 p.m. as the second half of the network doubleheader.
In this case, CBS wanted to move a game from 1:00 p.m. EST to 4:05 p.m. EST, even though CBS doesn't own the doubleheader that weekend. Why? Well, the national game that day is the Eagles at the Giants, starting at 4:15 p.m. EDT. On FOX. So by moving the Fins-Bills game to 4:05 p.m., CBS would have been able to chew into FOX's ratings in Miami and, more importantly, in New York State markets where the Bills are a bigger draw than the Giants.
As it now stands, CBS will have no games up against the second half of the FOX doubleheader that weekend, because the Chiefs at the Chargers (which would have started at 4:05 p.m. EST and been aired in San Diego and Kansas City) got lifted by NBC.
Now let me give you the real deal. CBS did not move the game back because they suddenly discovered Jesus and wanted to give something back to the fans. They moved the game back because they were told that the game wouldn't sell out with a 4:05 start time. Therefore, any chance of grabbing market share from Fox in Upstate New York markets wasn't going to happen anyway. As it is, the game may not sell out anyway. Last reports have 7,000 tickets remaining out of a total of 75,000. Which are now going to sell even slower because its going to take a few days for word of the change back to a 1:00 start time to filter through the community.

Maybe it won't sell out because both teams suck arse?
One of the best teams in football with one of the best players in football came The Ralph last week and there were 10,500+ people in attendance dressed as empty seats:
San Diego 24 Buffalo 21

Ralph Wilson Stadium-Attendance: 63,361 (73,967)
Time: 3:24

Your thoughts?
Well, for one, the Bills outsold the Dallas Cowboys.

I know you're not a fan of flex scheduling. Wasn't this thread supposed to be about... let me see here... what was the exact quote? Oh yeah!:::

Can we get back on point or did your mind wander as per usual?
The point is self evident. Flexible scheduling fucks fans over.

As long as it's just Bills fans, I don't have a problem with it.

I agree. The point is, you're useless when it comes to effectively debating a topic.
You intimated that tix sales to this week's game were being hurt by flex scheduling. I point out how the week before, with the Chargers and LT in town, there was 10.5K empty seats at The Ralph. To reiterate::: One of the best teams in all of the NFL with one of the best players in all of the NFL rolled into town and there was 10.5K empty seats. The next week, a team with no playoff aspirations and no superstar player comes to the same stadium and they sell more tickets!
How does this help your case against flex scheduling when the shit game that was "fucked over by flex scheduling" OUTSELLS the marquee match-up from the week before?

Maybe you should change your nic to Ucandomath?
Stadium capacity is 75,000
The stats YOU cited showed a crowd of 63,000 for last week's game.
The Bills-Dolphins game has 7,000 unsold tickets. That means that paid attendance for the Bills- Dolphins game is guaranteed to be HIGHER than the paid attendance last week.
That is because Bills fans love to "squish the fish". So, if they have to choose between two December games, the scales will tip towards the Dolphins game over any other. But there are enough fans who hate late afternoon starts around here (especially in December) that the team knew that they could not possibly sell out with the time switch.

Yep, flexible scehduling has been a real problem for the fans.

You're making my point.
How does this help your argument that flex scheduling and its later start times keep fans away?
Unflexed game = 63K
Flexed game "where fans get fucked over" = 67 K
Were you dropped on your head as a child?
The Bills had 7,000 seats remaining before the NFL flexed the game. The ticket sales STOPPED dead when the change in kickoff was announced. The Bills front office called the league office and told them if CBS wanted to have any chance of getting the blackout lifted, they had better get the game switched back to 1:00.
What about that are you having trouble understanding?

The league had the game slated for a later start for only one day:
The NFL has moved the December 17 game between the Dolphins and the Bills back to 1:00 p.m. EST,a day after shifting the game to 4:05 p.m. EST.
Let me get this straight. It's your opinion that people heard about the news the day that if fucking happened, which according to you, stopped ticket sales cold, and then... didn't hear about the game being changed back to its original start time the next fucking day? Does the greater Buffalo area only get its news one day per month?

. Just because you were dropped on your head as a child and you're a dumb fuck doesn't necessarily mean that one caused the other. You may have turned out to be a dumb fuck anyways.

I'm not sure if you're being horribly obtuse or simply attempting to put words in my mouth. Either way, I'm not interesting in nitpicking with you. I have given you the facts. If it is beyond your ability to comprehend how this back and forth scheduling impacts ticket holders and those who might be contemplating buying tickets, then so be it.

Maybe... just maybe, Bills fans aren't showing up to the games the last month or so. Maybe, just maybe, the flex schedule has nothing to do with anything. Maybe it's just a recurring theme the last month or so.
The Buffalo Bills have the dubious distinction of ruining the NFL's streak of lifting the local television blackout this year.
The Bills did not sell out Sunday's game against Jacksonville by the 1 p.m. deadline Friday, and the game will not be shown on local television.
It's the first game in the entire NFL this year that will be blacked out. All 160 games over the first 11 weeks of the season were sold out 72 hours in advance of kickoff, and the 15 other games this weekend also sold out before the deadline.
Before this year, the most sellout weekends in one season were four in 2002 and 2005. The blackout rule went into effect in 1973. It wasn't until 1998 that the NFL had a weekend in which every game was sold out in advance of the deadline.
The Bills reported that a little more than 7,000 tickets remained Friday afternoon for the Jaguars game. There are roughly 10,000 tickets left for next week's home game against the San Diego Chargers.
Despite this week's failure, the Bills have a tremendous track record of selling tickets, especially considering their lack of success on the field this decade. They have sold out 27 of the previous 28 games at Ralph Wilson Stadium, all in time for the TV blackout to be lifted.

Bullshit. You've given me your opinion on why the Bills haven't sold out their game against Dolphins. You've attempted to connect the dots to two unrelated occurences based on what you believe to be true.
The Bills didn't sell out their LAST TWO HOME GAMES against the Jags and Chargers. Both games started at 1 p.m. Neither contest had its start time changed and then changed back. The fact the the Dolphins game MAY ALSO NOT SELL OUT should come as no surprise. It's called a pattern. Bills Fan isn't showing up lately, regardless of the starting time being changed or not. That is a fact.
