I know that I called 19-10 at the beginning of the season, but I've looked at the schedule and I don't see us doing any worse than 16-13. I'm sticking with 19-10, but if we lose some games that we should win, then 16-13 is still possible as well. I just wanted to share this with the OU fans that browse this board.

I'm still in the 15-17 win camp. and still think that hosting an NIT game is not an unreasonable goal. As long as they continue to improve and play hard I'm not going to get too bent this year.

i think we play a lot of close conference games that in appearance look kinda like the Purdue game.....yet, hopefully with a Sooner W.

Yeah... and if we had more than a couple of hundred fans there, we might be able to pull it out. This is fuckin' terrible... and we're playing them well so far. Basket for basket. Double L looks good so far too... and Reynolds might be questioning his choice. What little crowd we have there is all over that kid.

Man, we looked so good in the beginning of that game. The full-court semipress just wore our guardless asses down as the game wore on. Any time a coach has to call a timeout to tell his team not to give up... Wow. 'Nova put it to us, and they're a good-looking team. Their seniors were killin' us, not just with big shots, but with well-timed big shots. Every time we'd start making a run; getting the crowd back into it, "And the white kid pulls up, annnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnd wet. Again."

and, the 3/4 press only gave us 20 seconds on the shot clock to pass the ball aimlessly around the perimeter in the first half until taking a bad shot. 3 missed front ends from the stripe didn't help us out much in the first half either. things got a little better in the second half when we started taking the ball to the hole....offense is designed to take the ball *towards* the basket, right? but, Nova had a distinct advantage in that they are a good shooting and ball-handling team.....while OU is neither. 14 turnovers at halftime.

Taylor Griffin was a no show in that game. him and Neal.

i kinda like Jay Wright.

Expect Neal to be a no-show against any team that doesn't let him spot up, come hard off of screens, or that gets physical with him. He's no threat to go to the rack, so teams play him hard off of the spot and everybody knows that that is his weakness... Man, I LOVE the guy's shooting touch, and he has a really good offensive feel for the game, moving well without the ball, etc... but he's no Richard Hamilton or Reggie Miller and he CAN'T consistantly carry an offense.

Right now, we don't have anybody, except maybe Crocker, once he develops a consistant J, that can carry our team... and we need that from our guards because, as talented as our frontcourt is (Griffin, Clark, et al...) we need someone who can consistantly get them the ball, and I don't see Double L becoming mini-Olajuwon any time soon...
