Jeff Triplette
Why in the world did the NFL assign this buffoon to the Sunday Night game? He never can get the calls right and talks like fucking Gomer Pyle out there when calling penalties. Good thing that LT has a face shield, you never know where Gomer's flag is going.
Even Madden basically said that "interesting things happen when Triplette is the referee."

The second it crosses the line of scrimmage its live....meaning if KC touches it they better hold onto it. They didn't. SD recovered. Pretty logical to me.Mississippi Neck wrote:Its funny that you can block a punt and not get possession. Then, of course, LT takes it to the house. Bwahh

Really....and if a FG attempt is tipped or blocked yet it still goes through the upright? It's still a FG, right? A punt that crosses the LOS is LEGAL. What's the BS rule? The KC player was stupid enough to touch it.KC Paul 3.0 wrote:Pretty much a BULLSHIT rule.mvscal wrote:It passed the line of scrimmage and was touched by the receiving team. It was a muff.

Uhhh...LOS......when you get on the rules committee you can change it. Otherwise, hand out rulebooks to your players and STFU.KC Paul 3.0 wrote:It's BULLSHIT because it didn't cross the 1st down marker. In THAT event I could see the bolts keeping possession, but to just give it back to them simply because we TOUCHED it is utter nonsense.

Stupid shit, if KC had a brain about them, they'd have just let the ball die at the 15 or so whereupon it would have been downed by SD and given KC posession there. Know the rules is all.KC Paul 3.0 wrote:Pretty much a BULLSHIT rule.mvscal wrote:It passed the line of scrimmage and was touched by the receiving team. It was a muff.
Sin,
The Tuck rule
The guy who touched the ball was a rookie. He was trying to make a play and it backfired on him. I think he knew the rule and it's evidenced by the shot he immediately put on the guy who recovered the ball for the Chargers. He realized what had happened. Sure, he should have just let the ball land on the ground an not touch it at all. However, to blame the special teams coach or call the entire KC team dumb is a little exuberant. It was a rookie mistake that was made in the heat of battle. Happens to every team.
