Wow. Okay, so, let me preface this by saying that I'd also gone out the night before and wound up bringing a couple of girls back to my friends house to party. We were all up til about 4am or so. After that, I remained up until about 5 or so. No sleep = No fun, regardless of what else is going on around you. (Or TO you...)
I wake up at around 11am, with no sleep, and my buddy comes into the living room saying, "That was pretty fuckin' cool of Nate, wasn't it?"
I'm only about halfway aware of what the shit he's talking about... then the events of the previous night start coming more clearly into focus and I realize that we've got the hook up at the All College Classic the next day. If the basketball court were a football field, we had 4th row, 40 yard line. By comparison, Joe C, OU's athletic director, had 2nd row, 20 yard line, and Billy f'ing Tubbs, who I got to meet and speak with for about 5 minutes, had 2nd row, 40 yard line. It was glorious.
OU is not good. We have a total of two quality players on the whole roster; Tony Crocker, who is a legit stud, and Taylor Griffin, who is also very, very good. Everybody else is lame and has a GLARING weakness... (Neal can't penetrate or handle the ball one bit... Longar is just fuckdumb, and has ZERO ball handling skills, even with his back to the basket... Tulsa was NOT a tall team and he still couldn't dominate them...) BUT, despite those issues, and a VERY anti-OU crowd, we still managed to beat Tulsa in a game that was much closer than the final score dictated. It was also during this game that Oklahoma State fans reaffirmed for me just how shitty they really are... In Oklahoma City; in Chris Paul's house, OU was playing an away game. OSU fans were all over the place ('cause when you're jobless AND toothless, why NOT show up on a Wednesday at 3:30 to boo the Sooners...?) and loudly booing the Sooners due to a VERY advanced case of "Little Brother-itis."
Well, after the OU game, we decide to take FULL advantage of the hook up and we go up to the luxury boxes and start to (continue to) get our drink on. A drink on that started at noon at Tapwerks in Bricktown. Belgium beers are the awesome, btw.
Anyway, the OSU game was GREAT. There is also no legitmate reason that Pitt should have lost to OSU other than OSU, even with only 7 scholarship players, still has 5 very quality players... Anyway, they, undermanned and everything, managed to hold Pitt off in double OT, and it was a GREAT f'ing game. Then we came back and contined the "drink on" through two more bars in Norman.
Other Highlights: -- Meeting Billy Tubbs. He's a great, and really gracious guy. I talked to him more about his time at TCU than I did his time at OU even...
-- OU fans may recognize the name, Krista Sanchez... Well, if you have any questions about her... at ALL, PM me, 'cause I have a story that you're not going to believe. This is the real highlight of the entire day. In fact, just thinking about it, I have to go. I'll be back later to type more, unless the drinking happens again. I love having a break from 15 year-olds.

Congrats, Wags. Good win.
Rack the tale, D.
I saw most of the OSU-Pitt game, and it was awesome.
Oh, and I'll be in that building on Saturday night, watching my Spurs take on the Hornets. My bro and I are taking two of his triplets -- the two boys. They are 6 and have never been to a game like this. Should be a lot of fun.

Name sounds familiar, but I can't place her. Do tell ...Krista Sanchez

i went last year to the "All-College" and got there about halftime of the OSU-Tennessee game...after my pops picked me up at Will Rogers World Airport to witness in person the bizaree shit result ofthe OU-Beilein diaster...... Kevin Bookout trying to guard Pittsnogle in the high post and more backdoor layups than a Roy Williams team against Colorado. i personally think that when Kelvin grumbled to the press that the name on the front of the jersey didn't say Taj Gray....was exactly reflecting the point Oklahoma went from being a potentially pretty good team to an first round loser. Taj is nobody's NBA stud but he had 30+
with 10 minutes left in that game*....and Kelvin not only didn't feed him the ball....but ran it on the papers the next day.
*OU couldn't stop WVU's backdoor (why the fuck is Bookout guarding Pittsnogle at the top of the key--same with that bigass dude from Utah who was a lottery pick who's name i can't remember--why the FUCK is Bookout guarding this guy up high?). by the same token, WVU could NOT stop Gray in the post. 30 points with 10 mintues left. finished with 32 or something.
anyway, i was a little surprised OU beat Tulsa. my pops said it was no piece of art as a game.
woulda been there last night minus the snow in Colorado.
