Sooooooo I just found out that one of my clients wants me fly to New Jersey to meet with them on JANUARY 8th from 1 p.m. - 5 p.m. and we'll probably have to go to dinner and I'll probably have to fly back that same night!

Has anyone flown Jet Blue? I hear they have TVs on their planes? Do you think they'll show the National Championship game?

I reaaaaaalllllly want to cry.

P.S. - And I forgot to tell you that my Supervisor said last week at the beginning of a meeting, "Ok, first and foremore..."

a. I think I heard that JetBlue has tv's in every headrest.

2. You ought to try to fly out the next morn...try female issues as an excuse.

All those people who died in central Florida were flying JetBlue.
But you're in northeastern FLA so you should be okay.

Jet blue is awesome. Just got back from New York a few weeks back, flew Jet blue there and back. Best flight I've ever had. It's the only domestic airline I'll use any more.

They do have TVs on every headrest, but it isn't live programming, its taped shows and movies. Still, it's a far better way to go than the TV on the bulkhead that the fat people with small bladders eclipse every 20 minutes.

They also keep you updated on delays and stuff. I was at la guardia and there was a delay in take offs due to some construction, and every 5 minutes the pilot updated us on our estimated take off time, etc. A small thing yeah, but far better than sitting there not knowing why you're just sitting there not moving.

Since it sounds like you'll land at Newark, why not take the NJ Transit train which is right there 15 minutes to NYC Penn Station, walk a few blocks south and have fun at the ESPNZone in Time's Square? If you go to Philly, you are going to spend an hour and a half minimum finding a spot.

Well I'm still trying to figure out if I'm flying into Philly or Newark. If Newark, I am DEFINITELY into doing that!

If you land at Newark, don't even bother with the hassle of driving to Philly. Getting to mid-town Manhattan from the airport is like 15 minutes due to all of the train stops. NYC is so much more fun anyway.

Patsy,

ESPN Zone is a few blocks "north" of Penn Station,

If you land in Newark you can also take the Amtrack to Philly if it's the case. Newark's train station is outstanding, and like AP said a quick, easy and inexpensive way to get into downtown Manhatten.

Getting from Newark to a decent place in Philly doesn't take that long to get there going through NJ? Okay, maybe an hour with good traffic then.

Chickies and Pete's (named as one of the best by SI) (will be crowded but best place to experience a game) but it's in South Philly..
same with McFadden's (attached to the Phillies stadium)

Where would you be staying? That'll determine the best places to go. The 2 mentioned are in South Philly, near the stadium, and are packed during game days. The ones in the downtown section will be less crowded and easier to get to.

Why drive anywhere if Manhattan or Philly are the destinations? Amtrack is the way to go. Manhattan is obviously going to be more crowded and congested.

Oh.

I thought this thread might be about something else.

On another note, patsy, when are you finally gonna lay some devastating smack of emasculation on Indyfrisco for his transgressions? It is within your power to do so.

Why do you have such a hard-on for Philly? Anyone who's been to both NYC and Philly knows there's much better places to go, things to see, etc, etc.... in Manhattan.

While your intitial point is not being disputed, the fact that I was born and still visit the city on a frequent basis probably makes me a bit biased.. but I guess my T1B name wouldn't give that away.

However if time is limited and you don't want to deal with mobs of people and overpriced places to eat and drink, downtown Philly is a great place to go. The downtown underwent a revitilization of sorts with its restaurants and bars (and is now smoke free, like NYC). Manhattan is an awesome place to vist. I was there a few months ago. But you don't necessarily have to rely on a taxi to get to a decent bar, restaurant and after-hours club/bar.
