There was a firing in Detroit today...

...but it wasn't the one LionFan wanted. Donnie Henderson was let go as well as the naked drunk d-line coach, the offensive line coach and special teams coach Chuck Priefer retired.

I don't know if Millen has ever had an actual ultimatum put on his head but supposedly if the Lions don't compete for playoff spot in 2007, he's out...that's yet to be seen. Let's be honest, if a guy wins only 25% of his games, he should've be out on his ass. Regardless of there being a new coach in place, this guy is 24-72 in 6 years. This makes the Tigers' 119 loss season a few years ago not seem so bad eventhough they won only 26% of their games and it hasn't been as agonizing as this 6-year run under Millen.

I don't know how good Marinelli really is but I have no faith in Millen's ability to put together a team. Whether he's the right coach or not, he may never have the players to prove either way. I don't know if I can stick it out for another year of this...it's been painful. I find myself following the NFL less and less simply because my team is proving they aren't a legitimate NFL franchise. I want to care about the Lions and the NFL but that goof in the booth is driving the fans crazy. So crazy that fans are still willing to pay money to see them play and wear their gear.

When do pitchers and catchers report?

With all the spooks in Detroit, you'd think one of them could pull off a drive-by on Millen.

Or do they only care about basketball these days?

With the second pick in the draft, the Detroit Lions select Dwayne Jarrett from USC.

What makes you think Al Davis won't take him first?

William Clay is taking lessons from his once proud car company. Keep making shit and the sheep will still buy it.

That drunkard coach should have been fired the day that news came out.

I was stunned find out that Cullen wasn't fired...I thought I heard he was let go. Just from watching Millen, you can tell this organization is a little too forgiving.

ALLEN PARK -- In a move that has been expected, Detroit Lions owner William Clay Ford has officially retained president Matt Millen for another season, according to a television report this morning.

Fox 2 Detroit reported that Millen will definitely return for a seventh season to lead the Lions, who have lost 10 or more games for all six seasons Millen has been in charge. The Lions finished the 2006 season with a 3-13 record and will have the second overall pick in the April NFL draft.

Millen still has four years remaining on a five-year contract extension he was given last season.

Millen might suck as a GM, but rack his ability to get over.
