The Yankees have been relatively mild offseason for their standards but they've done a nice job in getting rid of some dead weight and extra salary by moving Sheffield, Wright and Johnson. If they can turn around and sign Clemens, their rotation becomes much improved from last season. Arizona is reaching with this deal...they don't really become a contender or a playoff team with this deal. Johnson is really nothing more than a gate attraction and they had to give up 4 players to get him.
Big Unit soon to be traded back to D'backs

give it time!!
I think they traded Sheffield to make room for Cabrera. Nixon wouldn't be anything more than a spare outfielder because I'd imagine that their starting outfield next year would be Matsui-Damon-Cabrera with probably Giambi as the DH since they signed Mientkiewicz.

Unit signs a 2-year deal with the snakes...looks like that's a done deal now.

The D'backs have a decent rotation brewing now with getting Johnson back and getting Doug Davis from the Brewers. You've got the Cy Young winner in Webb leading the way and Hernandez is a good eater of innings...among other things.![Laughing ](./images/smilies/icon_lol.gif)
Still a young team as a whole but they'll be able to battle with some of the top teams in the NL with their top 4 guys in that rotation. That's still a pretty weak division but I don't think they're quite good enough to sneak away with the top spot there. Still have to like the Dodgers and Padres over them and you never know with the Giants either.
