Dude... if one of us were to call a relative of yours, I'm sure it'd be that hot cousin you're having an incestuous relationship with.

Well, I thought you may have mentioned it previously. Age is no biggie. I'm 30. Was just giving the Ex:.

Anyhow, t&p. I lost my grandmother who absolutely loved me when I was 4 to lung cancer. My other grandparents are still around, but never had much to do with us grandkids, one especially who calls my brother by name and me "the other one". He doesn't even know the rest of his grandkids. Be thankful you had what you did for as long as you did.

No need to do that. Everything is cool. Nothing could happen.

~ButtspraySmack~
I never said nothing could happen. My point was that Shoalzie posting a memorial to his grandfather on this board was not LIKELY to lead to anything bad. You could be hit by a drunk driver today. Should you stop driving? After all, that would be safer.

There is a difference between getting hit by a drunk driver and parking in the middle of an intersection in front of a bar at closing time. Why do you fail to grasp that?
So, should the thousands of newspapers be censored? Should no names ever be published on the Internet?

BSmack seriously, it's about the odds. The odds of somebody HERE today of using that info to do something stupid MIGHT be lower than if he posted it anywhere else, (of course there have been issues in the past with posters personal info being thrown about on SCIII related boards), but they'd be NONE if he didn't post it all.

The question, is it worth the risk ? Answer, no. It's a moot point.

And my point is where do you draw the line? Should we all live in bubbles? After all, that would be safer.

Obviously, it is a moot point for Shoalzie and his cousin. I'm thinking big picture stuff now.

What the hell is wrong with you? You're looking way too much into this. You "draw the line" at putting personal info on message boards. End of discussion.

You equate the "risky" usage of transportation, which is practically a vital part of life, to posting on message boards? Most of us need some form of transportation to get to work. While none of us, under any circumstance, NEED to post on this board.

Get the difference?

Nobody's saying don't drive. Nobody's saying don't leave your house. We're saying don't post your last name on message boards. This isn't complex shit, Bsmack.

This is where you don't understand, Mgo. For people like B, Whitey, Fat Paul, and Dimsdale (to name only a few), this board is their life. They post peronal crap, ask for people to pray for them, talk about their jobs, families, etc. - and then bitch when they get smacked for it. It really is amazing that to a ton of people on here, these are their only "friends" or contact with other humans.

Oh, and also you lost them when you used the word "work" as well.

Strange comparison but I guess I get what you're saying. I wasn't being too wreckless with what I was doing. It's unfortunate I can't say the name of my late and great grandfather because I have to worry about some social degenerate could find a way to steal his identity or find my grandparents address and phone number and become a problem to them. I obviously don't want that. I couldn't forgive myself for causing something like that.

What is it with me and referencing a relative/potential relative in the month of January? Last January was my maybe/possible/future step-cousin and now my grandfather this January...I never learn.

Let me ask you this. When was the last time putting enough information to use on these boards turned out to be anything other than a total clusterfuck? You keep trying to make an apples to oranges argument if you want, but I dare you to try and find any good that ever came out of personal information in this message board enviornment we are all familiar with.
Does the name Dave Knighton mean anything to you?

Hay!!!!Quit horsing around and get back to the subject at hoof.

We have discussed this at lengths, and still don't have a runnaway winner. The question coming down the stretch is:

Is Shoalzie a gelding or a fawn (or whatever a bitch horse is called)????

Maybe we should ask his mudder.

if i'm not mistaken, a gelding is a castrated horse. for his cousin's sake, i'm hoping shoalzie isn't a gelding.
