Breaking News: George Blanda to Return in 2007...

Post by 420 »

Poor Aaron. Saw it on the ESPN Ticker.

With only 5 more picks, Fav-ruh would pass him for the all-time record... 277 to 273

Seriously... Favre is embarrassing himself. The Niners let Montana and Rice go, and the Packers have to do the same with Fav-ruh.

My deluded Packer friends swear that Favre has a lifetime ticket, and no matter how bad he may be now, his three MVP's will guarantee rabid nutjob support from the cheeseheads well into his 40's. They, of course also contend that he is a top three alltime quarterback, the last six years notwithstanding. These are normally rational, intelligent people, but when it comes to that hillbilly, all logic gets thrown out the window.

Other than he makes bad decisions... like 273 of them just for a start.

He could run the ball, or take a sack. It would save his team about 40 yards with a punt. If you keep giving up 40 yards on every bad decision, your team is bound to suck.

It's time for Aaron to leave...

I'm not sure how long his contract is for. However, he needs to get out of that place ASAP. Favre is NOT mentoring him and has publically stated his refusal to do so. The fans aren't high on him and apparently the coaches aren't either. Otherwise they would have yanked Favre long ago. Aaron is learning bad habits from Favre who has the worst mechanics of any NFL QB. He throws off his back foot, sidearms the throws, doesn't look away the safeties, etc.

He's also likely to pass Marino to become the NFL's all-time TD leader.

Favre isnt what he used to be, but w/ a good defense and an o-line, he is still capable of getting a team into the 1st Round of the playoffs. Especially in the mediocre NFC.

There's always work at the post office.

Quick quiz: Who has a better interception per pass attempt ratio: Brett Favre of Johnny Unitas?

Quick Quiz: Who has a better TD per pass attempt ratio: Brett Favre or John Elway?

So you'll happily put Favre (and Trent Dilfer and Mark Hostetler and Mark Rypien and Doug Williams and Joe Theismann and Brad Johnson and Phil Simms) ahead of Dan Marino? I mean if it is the only thing that matters, right?

I said Super Bowl/ Championship "wins" are the only thing that matters.

By the way... Favre and Marino individually have probably played more games than the guys you mentioned combined!

Now that is really telling.

Stats mean absolutely nothing compared to the bottom line.

Do you think Favre really thinks he can comeback this year and win a Super Bowl??? Or do you think he's one of the most selfish players in NFL history... trying to get some records???

Think about it... Favre is a selfish pig!

Yeah so. Williams, Rypien, Theismann, Simms, Hostetler, Dilfer and Johnson all have won a Super Bowl.

So did you mean multiple "WINS" for one guy ?

He was still good enough to beat the 49er's in S.F.

You must have missed this part of my statement...

And yes... a truly great leader/quarterback wins more than one Super Bowl/Championship.

When you think of the best ever... who comes to mind?

In my world... it's Joe Montana. Do you think the Niners would have won those Super Bowls without him?

Well, wouldn't that mean Bart Starr is the greatest QB ever?

Did Starr win more Super Bowls/Championships than Montana???

By the way, I think Starr was a great leader/QB.

Yes, he won five in seven years. Montana won four in nine.

Favre threw for almost 4,000 yds (18 td's - 18 int's) on a team with the league's 23 ranked running game.

His leadership helped a young team win it's last 4 games to finish at .500.

I don't see where you're coming from in calling him selfish to want to play next yr, 2ool.

Sure, all rational folks will acknowledge that he's not that same QB he was a decade ago, but he's still doing a reasonably good yob, and you really can't measure the intangibles he brings to the table.

I DO think records are on his mind, but, and call me naive, I also think he's legitimately hopeful that this team can be good enough next yr for him to get one last moment in the playoff sun.

Your argument would have more legs if he truly stunk it up last yr, but he didn't.
