great game.

A&M looks better and better each game. I was sure we were dead in the water last night with allt he damn ticky-tack fouls getting our team in trouble. Seeig a lot of those bench players who have hardly played was great the the fact they played so well was even better.

And Dins...

This was an example of how I said A&M can't be shot out of the gym. t.u. was pushing it up and down the floor, but A&M was doing the same and handling it.

100-82 in the end says we can hang with that style of play.

ATM is going to be friggin' hard to beat if they can put 100 on people. hell, even mid 80's puts a lot of pressure on an opposing team to not waste many possessions the way they generally D up.

Yeah, Coach G really has these guys playing well. He's towing the company line of how he's happy where he is, but as long as he's doing this, he's going the be on the short list of any high profile jobs that come up. He's a Texas boy though so maybe he means it.

If he keeps this up aTm is a HIGH profile job. It's not like they don't have a bucketload of money to throw at men's basketball at College Station. If that is what they choose to do.

Bryne has said time and again he is dedicated to building ALL programs at A&M. He's not just trying to win at football. I think we are heading in the right direction. All it takes is a couple good years for the recruiting snowball to take effect. AS we all know, you can't consistently have a good team without talent.

I read a quote in the Houston Comical after the KU game that as long as he felt A&M's athletic program was sincere about winning a national championship he wanted it to be his last job.

I guess that and 3 bucks will get you a cup of coffee. Although I went to SWT or Texas State or whatever I come from a long line of Aggies and have always been a fan so this is really an exciting time to see what I never imagined I would...a winning Men's basketball team up the road in C.S.

Last nights win was important enough because it was against TU but, as Frisco said, I am really enthused about the fact that they were able to match the up tempo game and throw up a c-note.

Any time you put 100 in your home gym on a group of Freshman it is a big win. :meds: A&M is a good team. I was impressed with their shooting. They shot the ball great. I think the foul calls went both ways IF. You would figure in your home gym that you would get some calls and you did. I am going to the rematch in Austin. It should be fun. That was an entertaining game.

Congrats on a good win.

Harv,

There was a huge disparity in fouls called in te first half, especially early on. And most were very ticky-tack fouls on anyone covering Durant. We got into foul trouble and overcame it with our backups. My point was that we have seen very little of most of our backups. I really didn't know how they would perform. A&M is an extremely young team as well once you get past our top 3 starters in Law, Jones and Kavalaskas (Sr, Sr Jr).

Aditionally, the only reason I brought up the 100 is that Dins has gone down as saying Oregon would blow A&M out of the gym. I gave many a stat to refute his statement that pointed to A&M's top defense in the nation combined with a top 20 offense and no one would be blowing us out of the gym. I said we can play the slow game and we can play the uptempo game and this game proved it.

The A&M/t.u. game was much closer than 18 points. Basically, when Durant was finally shut down after his initial explosion of the second half, our bench took over. Durant looked very bad in the last 10 minutes of the second half. He was throwing up wild flailing shots getting nowhere near the rim. He was trying to do it all himself. Augustin was driving the paint all day and getting to the line. Not sure why they went away from that.

Oregon would be lucky to finish 5th in the BigXII. They would lose to Kansas, A & M, Texas, OSU and probably Tech.

The senior leadership you guys have is special. The problem with attracting top notch talent is that hey leave early ie Gibson, Tucker, Aldridge. I would have love to seen this team with those 3. A & M is special this year. Enjoy it. It sure is fun.

TREX. Yes, Freshman. Augustine, Hill, Pittmann, Mason, Drant and James are all freshman. Our other 3 guys taht get playing time are Abrams (Sophmore) Atchley (Sophmore) and JD Lewis (Junior).

I'm no Oregon backer but I'm pretty sure they wouldn't finish 5th in the Big 12. They are as good or better than Texas, Ok. State, Texas Tech and Kansas St. I think they are behind A&M and Kansas.
