Something Of Mild Interest
So I joined this men's 30+ soccer league about a month ago. The team was made up of guys who had no team to join, so we were a bunch of free agents. Anyway the captain of our team was gone last weekend in Vegas, he is a professional poker player, and when he got back this week he slyly mentioned that he might treat the team to new uniforms. So I mentioned that Vegas must have gone pretty well. He said to Google his name, I might be in for a little suprise. So I Googled his name and found out that he is the guy who sued Jamie Gold, last year's winnner of the World Series of Poker, for half his $6 million. Crazy. Anyway, it looks like the settled and he came away with a pretty good payday, reportedly $4 million.

Yep, sued for 6 got 4. I knew that but obviously didn't write it out that way.

I wondered whatever happened to the Jamie Gold case.
Now I know.
If'n I'm not mistaken, Gold was compensated for the work yourhomeboy did on his behalf, and dude had proof of the verbal contract. Didn't sound like there was much of a debate, except in Gold's greedy mind.
Sad part was, Gold was a long way from being the best player at the WSP, but that guy had the most amazing run of lucky cards in human history. My cat could win the WSP/ME with those cards.

No, the dispute was actually all about the tax liability from what I've heard.Husker4ever wrote:Justa Heel wrote:4 million is his half of 12 after taxes.
Most likely he won 6, gave the attorney 2, and will take home 2.6 of his 4 after taxes.
This is how I heard it -- this guy (TWIS' teammate) didn't want to pay any taxes since he's not a US resident (can TWIS confirm?), but Gold wouldn't give him the money unless he at least indemnified Gold for tax liabilty. Then Gold took the negotiating position that anything he was giving the other guy was a gift, and he was under no obligation to give him anything. That obviously got the partner to finally say "uncle" on the taxes.

Though I may be jewish, I am not TWIS, but I don't know the details too well myself, but if I get a chance I will try and get more detail from him.Justa Heel wrote:No, the dispute was actually all about the tax liability from what I've heard.Husker4ever wrote:Justa Heel wrote:4 million is his half of 12 after taxes.

And a here's a sincere hint from Dinsdale -- When us single guys make that big mistake and let the bitch find out where we live by taking her to our plce...when she sees that cat, it screams "I'm sensitive, and I'll treat you right"..."right" up until we tell them to hit the bricks.
Jeebuz, do I have to teach you guys everything?

Two
They're about a million years old at this point. When they croak(at the rate the "younger" one is going...about 15 years old, she'll probably live to be about 50), it's doubtful I'll have another. The ones I have moved into my place from my neighbor's. For that matter, my neighbor just about moved in from my neighbor's. We were all one big happy family back in the old ghetto-duplex days.
Chicks dig the kitties.

I was gonna give Dins' feline ownership a pass, then I read this........
If you are a single male and own a cat, you are suspect. if you own more than 1 cat, you are a straight up dork snorkling, cum guzzling faggit......not that there's anything wrong with that.
As for the sensitive guy bullshit, if you already got then to your place, you've pretty much sealed the deal. Having a kitty to show your sensitive side would only help if you wanted them to come back, which you claim isn't the case.

Looks to be doing a pretty dece job with the Islanders. I would say, though, that the Sabres have done pretty well under Nolan's replacement.BSmack wrote:Ted Nolan is the bomb.See You Next Wednesday wrote:Oh, I stopped reading that thread. My nic as Dave in SoCal.Goober McTuber wrote:
