The annual opportunity to drop $$$ on cards, candy and flowers brought to you by the fine folks here in KC at:

Image

Unwar forgetting, then standing in the card aisle with the other losers at CVS,
then plunking down $5 for a card that bellows out Hank Williams singing "Hey Good Looking" - OK, the card was kinda cool.
Luckily my wife likes Daisy's so I didn't get gouged for the $29.95 dozen roses at the local florist that are regularly $12.

I asked my wife when Men get a holiday where we get presents and booze and shit,
and she told me that was everyday.

I have no idea what she's talking about, but I've found arguing logic like that never gets me very far.

Good point, Scott.
No arguing.

If you win an argument with your wife, you lose.

I know you get that.

Interesting how ...

http://www.google.com pays tribute. Their seasonal image spells "Googe". I wonder if that's "googlespeak" for spooge.

Anyhow, good one mvscal, what'd you get your left hand for V-day ? Chocolate ? You gonna let it melt before you two get busy ?

RACK Mgo, lol'r
With all the horseshit around here, you'd think there'd be a pony somewhere.

Typical response from the emasculated. Try acting like a man someday, if you're still able.
Laugh at yourself once in awhile it's good for your health. Have a good night with your woman AlphaCal.

The joys of still being newlyweds. I get that twice a year.

Fortunately for me, my OL has always been happy with a kiss on Valentine's Day. She thinks that guys who fork out $$ are suckers.

Actually, $29.95 isn't bad on 2/14 compared to what I've seen in the past. In CA it was usually $40-$50. Anyway, though my OL thinks roses are pretty, her favorite flowers are carnations thank G0D and GOD. She told me a long time ago when we were first dating that she'd rather have $10 worth of carnations five times a year and be surprised, than have me fork over $50 for roses on 2/14 that will be dead in two weeks or less.

Won't that kill the taste of your steak?

I bought Lynn a Baby Grand a couple years ago, and one time I did bring flowers home she said "I love Roses on my Piano" to which I replied "I'd rather have Tulips on my Organ"

We were one and done. We considered having more, but whenever she gets pregnant, her body declares nuclear war on itself (gestational diabetes, braxton-hicks contractions, back problems, etc). Besides, she had two kids from her previous marriage.

On a related note... When I first started posting with you fuckers, I was a single college student. Now I've been married five years in April and have a 4 y/o son. We've been at this awhile...

Well, I wouldn't go that far. She's been quite well taken care of in the jewelry dept, including last year when I upgraded her wedding ring to a gorgeous three-stone band on our anniversary.

We just generally don't get each other anything for Valentine's Day or Christmas because we buy each other nice stuff throughout the year.

Nice!

A rimshot joke, but one that's always gotten a chuckle out of me.

My wife would be mean too if I cheated on her with some sow.

No, that was me. And it was only one time and I absolutely hated it.

Hell, I remember when you had hair and still wrangling Emu's
It's been longer than 5 years here. I think Rome came on in KC in 99 and started posting to SC3 within a few months after that.
