Fantasy baseball
It's that time for us CFB fans again. Fantasy baseball. We've had a core group of guys doing this for the past 6+ years. Last years participants are ALL invited back. 88 and Indy have told me that they won't be able to play. I have yes responses from Prime, Brave Fan, FLW Buckeye, and Greg in PG. I'm still waiting to hear from Lefty and Shazzer. We're going with 10 guys so right now I've got 5 for sure with 3 waiting and two not playing. If you're interested let me know. We do a live draft in the fantasy baseball forum and do this through Yahoo, so if you want in let me know and I'll start a list.
Thanks,
Lax
Thanks,
Lax

Orc, I'm going to set it up with 12 scoring categories. 6 offensive and 6 pitching, or thereabouts. Input is welcome from everyone. Also we changed it a bit last year and went with daily changes instead of weekly. I think it worked pretty well. If daily is a problem then it allows you to set your lineup a week or so in advance so you don't have to check and change everyday. I liked it because if a guy got injured or wasn't playing then you could sub him out. It gives us more ability to change things expecially with guys having days off etc.....
JON.....you don't get the joke so just leave this one alone.

Cool.
Concerning the daily/weekly lineup issue, I love the strategy involved with weekly lineup changes, not because it's a time-commitment issue. Sure, there will be some injuries and cold streaks to cause you fits throughout the week, but there are also just as many surprises by hot streaks to end the weekend.
Definitely not as plussed about doing a daily grind, especially in a league where half the owners seemed to hibernate during the year I played before the all-star break.
Not sure how the discussions went on this last year, though, and I don't want to start any lengthy sales debate if it's already put to bed for this year, as well. If everyone was in agreement to roll with this, then I've said my peace and can be done with it.

I'm in if I am allowed to only pick Royals/Cubs players.
Here's my lineup....
OF David DeJesus
OF Alfonso Soriano
OF Mark Teahen (i'm anticipating his move to LF once Alex Gordon is called up, so I'll count him as an OFer)
3B Aramis Ramirez
SS Hmm.....Angel Berroa blows and so does Izturis. Coin flip gave me Berroa.
2B Mark Grudzielanek (but if he gets injured I'm taking Esteban German)
1B Derrick Lee (if he gets injured give me Ryan Shealy)
DH Mike Sweeney
C Michael Barrett (John Buck as a backup)
SP Zach Greinke
SP Gil Meche
SP Carlos Zambrano
RP Octavio Dotel
Now that's a winning team if I ever saw one!

Only those in the league can actually "see" the CFB Fantasy Baseball forum. For example, jon can't see the forum when he goes to the T1B Forum Index. If you add Sky or Shoalzie, they will need to be granted access to that forum.Laxplayer wrote:I'm lost.......Speaking of which, let an admin know if you add someone new to the league so they can get access to the draft forum
Why do you think there hasn't been any "What the fuck is this forum for" and "This forum sucks horse cock" shit threads in there?

I wasn't made aware of any special forum for this league but I am signed in on Yahoo! though.

Shoalzie,
We used to run this in the CFB Forum. Got a little messy with non players interfering so a separate forum was created for the league. Actually kind of nice to have all your stuff in one place and easily referenced.
Once you're in there, you can go back and see previous drafts/commentary. Actually some really good stuff in there that is pretty funny.
Good times.

Yeah, we've got 8 guys.......I have been waiting for Shaz to give me a hollar but he didn't and I'm not sure having an odd amount of teams is a good thing. The 8 that are in are guys that have played in the past + shoalzie.
I had the thread up for a while but there wasn't that much response except you

Did somebody mention that they might need another warm body to help fill the league?orcinus wrote:Check the other forum for my recommendation, Lax.
If so, I'm in.
When do I get my secret decoder ring?
Thanks for the invite, orc. I take it that calling dibs on Beltran isn't allowed, so how about Delgado?
