Being on the West Coast, Charger fans have no conception of just how much of a disaster this is.

The best Norv ever did in Washington was 10-6, a year they should have been 13-3. Taking arguably the most talented team on the NFL right now and crashing it is going to be the ultimate example of how much he sucks. Nice guy, but a horrible, HORRIBLE head coach. He blows.

Amazing that a guy like Smith who has been great at building this team can't see what the rest of the world sees.

He is a great QB coach and OC but a very mediocre HC. They should have went after the Ravens DC.

Wow. Going from a coach that chokes in the playoffs to a coach that will make every idiotic mistake that keeps his team out of the playoffs. Who’s next? Spurrier?

Being that this is the Chargers... there isn't chance in hell they'd make this move.

I knew it!. Fuck.

Well, at least this time, Norv can fuck up two teams at one time instead of just one. (Niners and Chargers)

Spanos must love retreads...

If a guy has a couple of shots to show he is a winner and he comes up badly, what is the point of hiring him again? This has been proved over and over again. Norv is a great OC and Pete Carroll was a good DC, but both were flops as head caoches. Marty always lost in the playoffs, does Spanos expect it to change?

The only positive news from this is...

Look for Turner to try and hire Ron Rivera as DC. Let's see if that happens. Spanos will need to open the wallet to a get a long time Bear (Cal and Chicago) to move to San Diego.

I can't believe this. Sorry Chargerfan, but your incredibly talented team will nose dive in the next two to three years. But hey, at least Norv and Smith can get along.

What a bunch of upper management manginas!!!

I was all ready for them to build a stadium in Oceanside, a 10 mile straight shot down Highway 76 from where I live that I probably would have been able to get to using the brand new light rail line that's supposed to be opening later this year. Season tickets were in my future plans.

Sort of not caring if they move to Irwindale right about now.

If He put in a light rail line, GOD must hate San Diego in general.

Because goodness knows, horrible levels of street crime don't mysteriously coincide with the route of the light rail...and I certainly haven't watched this evolution with my own two eyes over the last 20 years...nope.

Why they can't invent a light rail system that somehow checks passengers onto the rail is beyond me. That crime level would not be near as bad if the people on the rail actually paid to get on there.

Not to worry, Squirt DisCharge tards-The fucking Bengals West will undoubtedly lead the league in an important category next season:

Felony charges.

Shit, after an 1/8 of that team got popped left and right under marty's iron fist last season, they should just hand out orange jumpsuit uni's to whole fucking team in advance after Norv's hiring.

rut-roh.

After 10 failed trys on the ballot, KC voters finally approved the latest light rail iniative/boondoggle last November.

I voted against it. Voting against it and laughing at it's repeated failure had become sorta' a tradition. Looks like the joke is now on us.

Oh, and btw... niiice hire, Chargers.

What a stupid fucking move. How can they make a decision like that given his track record as HC? No one else thinks this is a good move.

Chargers play a fairly tough schedule next year, too. I'll say they finish 8-8.

If the Chargers happen to win a SB, it's because of what was in place for him ala Barrah Switzer.

Don't really see the comparison since Switzer inherited a two time superbowl champion while Turner inherits just a one and done team. Try again.

Absolutely dead on.

If Marty had drilled some honest to goodness stern discipline in that team, the boneheaded ill-timed penalties of people like Drayton Florence would not have happened. Mistakes made at such a critical time as that don't happen on a well coached team. Just for that one single hoof left unshod, the Chargers could be champions today.

Even if Shottenheimer had the chance for another post season run with the Bolts and made it crystal clear to all the players that whomever commits such a foolish penalty is going to be impaled on a hot iron rod which is fed intermittent high voltage zaps, Marty would find some other aspect of the game to overlook and cause a decent team to lose when it really counts.

...I can't argue with that!

You're aware that Oakland has been Kunta Kinte'd by Marty throughout his career .... ?

Oakland sucks until they prove otherwise, yes.
