Bush Compares Revolutionary War to War on Terror

Yea, uhhh sure............ The British are like the Sunnis and the Shites are like the Indians who acted like they liked the British, but later didn't like them.

And George W. is like George W. except he didn't cross the Delaware or come clean on the cherry tree (his advisers led him to believe the cherry tree was about to fall anyway)

I'd like to see where Geo. Washington ever said this. Bush and his speechwriters ought to read Washington's farewell address.

Word, but this isn't Dubya's fault. It's not like he came up with that on his own. It's his speechwriters (in this instance) that are making him look like a complete tool to the educated masses. Whoever wrote that should be fired on the spot.

Not only was Washington essentially the "father of isolationim", but it's pretty safe to say that as a country we followed that philosiphy up until the day we invaded Normandy(almost 200 years). What a bunch of maroons.

Dumbya isn't fit to clean Washington's horse stalls.

And his VP is right up there with Burr and Spiro Agnew for sheer "scumbaggedness."

Mea culpa to Bush on Presidents Day

Our great country has had 43 presidents. Many very good. A few pretty bad. On Presidents Day next Monday, it's appropriate to commemorate them all.

I remember every president since Herbert Hoover, when I was a grade school kid. He was one of the worst. I've personally met every president since Dwight Eisenhower. He was one of the best.

A year ago I criticized Hillary Clinton for saying "this (Bush) administration will go down in history as one of the worst."

"She's wrong," I wrote. Then I rated these five presidents, in this order, as the worst: Andrew Jackson, James Buchanan, Ulysses Grant, Hoover and Richard Nixon. "It's very unlikely Bush can crack that list," I added.

I was wrong. This is my mea culpa. Not only has Bush cracked that list, but he is planted firmly at the top.

The Iraq war, of course, has become Bush's albatross. He and his buddies are great at coining words or slogans. "Bushisms" that will haunt him historically:

• "Shock and Awe," early 2003.
• "Mission Accomplished," May 1, 2003.
• "Stay the Course," June 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006.
• "New Strategy," 2007.

Another term historians may weigh critically is "Decider."

Is he just a self-touted decider doing what he thinks right? Or is he an arrogant ruler who doesn't care or consider what the public or Congress believes best for the country?

Despite his play on words and slogans, Bush didn't learn the value or meaning of mea culpa (acknowledgement of an error) during his years at Yale.

Bush admitting his many mistakes on Iraq and ending that fiasco might make many of us forgive, even though we can never forget the terrible toll in lives and dollars.

Once again, any list of "worst" Presidents that doesn't include Billy Carter's dumber brother is a sham and has zero credibility.....

Herbert Hoover came of age, and recieved his primary education in Newberg, OR...a few minutes down the road from me....a few minutes dow the Herbert Hoover Highway, to be exact. Hoover considered himself to be an Oregonian, even though he wasn't born in Oregon

Once he reached adulthood, he took advantage of an offer to attend school free-of-charge at the brand-new Stanford University, and became the first-ever student there.

Dude...you don't want to step to me on Herbert Hoover history...really. Feel free to take a crack at any other president's history...but I'd recommend not betting against me in a Herbert Hoover trivia contest...I've got my fill of that shit...growing up a few miles up the road from Hoover, and all.

My former college adviser is one of the preeminent Hoover scholars in America. He wrote some good stuff on Hoover.

Hoover spent 7 years in the U&L and then got the hell out when it came time to make something of himself.

Stand tall bro.

Maybe you should have paid more attention to your adviser.

Ya'think that Hoover got an offer to become the first-ever student at Stanford University maybe because he'd already "made something of himself"?

Think hard, now.

Dumbya isn't fit to clean Washington's horse stalls.
Not for lack of trying. Word has it Scooter Libby was seen tongue-scrubbing the stalls at Mt. Vernon on Monday, possibly preparing himself for his court appearance today...after which he was heard by several to mutter, "I'll get you yet, Dick."
