Going mobile this summer.
We recently purchased a '86 toyota sunrader and plan on doing a 3 week road trip this summer. This little rig will be kinda cozy for 4, but, it will get atleast double the mileage of a regular sized A or C class rig.
We'll leave somewhere in the middle of july. Probably drive straight through to mall of america. No, I don't want to see that fukkin' place, but, the OL and kids do. I tried the "it's just a fuggin' mall" rationale for skipping that place, but, it didn't work too good.
While in this area, I'll have to find the long lost fester and have a hamm's with him and dump my black water tank in his driveway.
Then we'll head out for the black hills and mt rushmore. Y'know, I'll bet there ain't more than half a dozen brothas in the entire fukkin' black hills. Go figure.
From there the plan gets a little fuzzy. We may head for jellystone or maybe glacier national park. Prolly ought to hit glacier [blame bush]as it will be gone by next year[/blame bush]. Then we were planning on a few days in the U&L, but, it's looking like that might not fit in the 3 week schedule. Actually, I'm just afraid that I will run into dins where he will perform a through the legs, 720 windmill, reverse jam in my face and then he'd bang my wife and or 15 year old daughter. Another thing is, no fukkin' way I'm bringing my 8 year old son into the same time zone as Diego.
We'll prolly just work our way south through Utah and try to find out what happened to peehole. At this point, it will be hard to avoid the urge to make a 400 hunnit mile detour to piss in mikey's hot tub, but, it will probably have to wait till next road trip.
Eventually we'll get to the Grand Canyon. By this time, the RV's tanks should need emptying again. I will do so into the colorado river.
How's my shit taste, socals?
For the return east we'll probably take a more southerly route across New Meheeeco taking great care to not visit annie, through teehas, R-kansas, tennesse, stop for a day or two at my sister's place in Charlotte. Then head for home with a possible stop in DC, time permitting.
Any of you fukkers RVers?
Any tips on places to visit, stuff to bring. I plan on picking up a GPS. I'm not sure if I should go with a self contained unit or maybe get a small hand held one that can be plugged into the laptop for maps and stuff. Any info on these would be appreciated.

Sounds like mtool's monthly "work" itinerary, after which he's lavishly rewarded with a trunk full of unsold chimes, and a few promised minutes of internet access time from Thor, his laptop-carrying, ren faire traveling sales partner.smackaholic wrote:teehas, R-kansas, tennesse, Charlotte.

I think those big ass RV's should pay double for gas--
nothing beats getting behind one when driving over a
10,000 foot mountain pass !!
May you get a flat tire there--on the outside of the mountain !!

Hell yeah. I tow my rig all over Texas. Usually go about once a monce at least and a couple of week long trips in the summer. Got me a Jayco 31BHS towed behind a Ford Excursion Limited with a 6.8 liter V10 and a 3.73 rear end. Best money ever spent. Good luck on your trip.smackaholic wrote: Any of you fukkers RVers?

If you come out of New Mexico travelling east on I40 I would recommend a stop at Palo Duro Canyon State Park in Amarillo. Second largest canyon in the US and it is beautiful. It does get a tad warm in the summer, but West Texas nights can get pleasant after the sun goes down. While you are Amarillo there is a privately run amusement park, the old Route 66 area in town, and you could always go check out the Cadillac Ranch.

Bwhahahahahahahahaha!!!!!!!
Stupid fuckin' Americans, think the world revolves around them...
You want a fuckin' Canyon??? I'll give you a fuckin' Canyon!
Try Copper Canyon in Mexico, which is one of 6 main gorges that compose the Sierra Tarahumara, a maze of deep, rugged arroyos that dwarfs the Grand Canyon.

Copper Canyon is four times larger and 2000 feet deeper than the Grand Canyon.

Now, that's a fucking Canyon!
420 the World Travler is here to help out every stupid fucking American...
That's great.e wrote:where did i say cabo was the "real mexico?"
and i highly doubt you've been to half the places you say you have.
Let me know if you need to know anything about Mexico. I've only driven the length of the country (states to central america) and back by car... multiple times.
Psssst! I use to winter there between shows for 4 to 6 months.
What are these other places... you doubt 420's been too?

Damn M2ooL, that was quite the (over)reaction. Do you suffer from canyon envy? Do you hate America?
And while Copper Canyon is impressive, it ain't on this list:
The Seven Natural Wonders of the World--
* Mount Everest
* The Great Barrier Reef
* The Grand Canyon
* Victoria Falls
* The Harbor of Rio de Janeiro
* Paricutin Volcano
* The Northern Lights
Nature bode beeyatch!!

Re: Going mobile this summer.
And you're going to try doing this whirlwind tour of the entire country in 3 weeks? Dude, you'd need 3 months, minimum, to properly visit all that... unless your idea of vacationing is simply driving thru and picking up a post card at the gift shop.smackaholic wrote: Then we'll head out for the black hills and mt rushmore. Anyways, allow yourself plenty of time in the Black Hills area and the Badlands. Mt. Rushmore gets all the publicity, but those two places are way cool. If you do decide to head to Yellowstone next, take a short side trip and check out Devils Tower. It's worth it. You'll need at least 3 days to see all the stuff worth seeing in Yellowstone. Bring warm clothes. Even in July it gets cold up there.
One place not listed on your itineray that's simply a must see for any serious tourist is Rocky Mountain National Park in Colorado. Simply beautiful.
