tOSU alumni (that don't donate shit loads of money) only get one game in a draw

tOSU public get to buy tickets if there are any left.
oh, sorry. i had someone explain it to me before, but he must've been alumni whereas i thought he was still a student. <--- lame excuse

i still have my umich id that i use to get in with student tickets i buy off the street, or at least i did before i left for namibia a few years ago. i heard rumors they were going to begin swiping the id's to see if they were valid, but it's been so long that i don't know.

a lot of the umich-loving public who get shut out of home games tend to drop $$$ on a roadie to illi, minn, indiana, or some other shite road game that the alumni aren't interested in. it makes for a great exchange as some crippled, 903-year-old couple tells them to sit down, that they can't see, and the public responds, fuck you, this ain't the big house.

At tOSU they started the same kind of thing, but I don't know how closely they check. On gameday/the web you see people offering an ID with the tickets.

The athletic department then offered a solution. Students can upgrade their student tickets by paying the difference to the AD of the student ticket and the alumni/full price ticket. (which is like 30 bucks or so) then the AD will give the student different tickets that they can sell or give to their family or whatever. I guess scalping is okay so long as the school gets their cut.

Shawn...when we went to the Michigan game we got student tickets with an id...you don't even need to match the pic on the ID and they didn't even ask us for them...considering we got our tickets at a nice bargain price of $300 when most of the people around us paid upwards of $500 that was nice...

pretty goofy policy...but hey don't fix it...

umich did something similar: you can sell you can take the ticket along with yr id and pay the difference between student and public prices to get a validation sticker, though it's an onerous process. it has to be done at the ticket office, and i think they're basically a m-f, 9-5 gig, so it's nigh impossible to sell off yr student ticket on game day unless it's to another student. or you feel like giving out yr id. uh... but the old folk don't generally check those to closely. i gave mine to my friend to use while i was gone, and i never heard of any problems.
