Everythings bigger and better in Texas.

http://stadium.dallascowboys.com/

Welcome to the Dallas Cowboys new stadium. This tour will give you a feel for the enormity of the structure which will seat approximately 80,000 but can be expandable to up to 100,000 for major events, like a Super Bowl, which could be held in the Metroplex as early as February of 2011. The retractable roof stadium will incorporate some of the historical features of Texas Stadium, home of the Dallas Cowboys for the past 35 years.

Where do ya'll tie up ya'lls horses??? And I didn't see the crack stands. Donde esta la cerveza "lone star"?

Sorry, it looks a lot like the Cards new one. But it's gotta be better than the old one.

Does it still have horse troughs or is there going to be actual urinals?

If this isn't a good thread feel free to trash it. I just thought maybe the NFL trolls would like to see the excessive new stadium they will ultimate be paying for in some way or another.

Trev's right. Psychotic, but right. This stadium in Arlington is going to be (with the Cardinals new digs) the template for every money grubbing owner looking to suck the last nickel out of you the taxpayer.

I guess everything IS bigger and better in Texas...including fucking retards.

Yeah, I can't think of a team that needs a retractable roof more than Dallas. I mean, when I think back through football history, has there ever been a city that's played host to more bad-weather games than Dallas?

Seattle? No retaractable roof (then again, the U&L isn't full of fucking pussies, and we actually prefer our football be played in adverse weather). New England? Nope, I don't think they bilked their taxpayers for the 100-150 million bucks for the retractable roof. Buffalo? Does Buffalo have a retractable roof?

Yup, everything is bigger and better in Texas, alright...including the self-inflicted asskickings that go hand in hand with inbreeding.

I think you're missing the point here Dins. I think the retractable roof is to insure good weather for the concerts and other events that the stadium will be hosting throughout the year. Also, I believe the roof only retracts part of the way so to give the impression of the hole in the roof so God can look down on his beloved Cowboys.

Perfect example of when the brightest of posters get stuck on stupid. Fortunately it happens only on rare occasions.

Cold--put more freaking clothes on and bring heaters onto the sidelines.

Yeah Seattle only played in a dome for what...20 years? Sure are a tough bunch of lumberjacks.

See stadiums are big business. It's nice in cold weather areas to be able to use the joint for more than 10 or 12 games per year. How's the big money pit in Seattle being utilized this winter? Tractor pulls, motorcross, rodeos, concerts, auto shows and the like bring in what we like to call revenue. But what does Dallas know about it? Hell why would anyone build a multi-use facility outside of timber country?

Dallas gets about 40"/year rainfall.

Portland, OR gets about 37"/year

Agree onthe concerts, etc.

Oceanside sounds like a fucked location. Isn't the 5 the only major highway through there? Sounds like a traffic nightmare and incredible congestion for the surrounding community for gameday. At least the Murph has a lot of different approaches.
Highway 78 is a (semi) major east-west highway that ends in Oceanside. Plus, it's on the Amtrak line between SD and LA and there's a new rail line opening up between Oceanside and Escondido (east-west). It would definitely require some transportation upgrades, but not that much and the stadium might actually provide the impetus to make the upgrades that are already needed.

I never went to a Bolts game there.

It was plenty hard getting out with a 20K Padres crowd. The new park is farther away but I still get home faster.
