Babs would be pimpin' Michigan for a tournament bid had they beaten them. I think he wants to have every team that has beaten State to get into the tournament. George Washington is likely going to be in as an at-large in not as a conference champ with a 20-9 overall record and a 10-5 conference record. Wisconsin and Illinois will be in from the Big Ten but I think Indiana is very iffy now with this loss tonight.
There's a difference between a close win and a close loss. You have a close loss in the Big Dance, that gets you sent home...you don't get half-credit. A team could have a 15-15 record with all losses by an average margin of 3 points each...does that make them a tournament team? Indiana needed to win tonight to get them in a better position. They drop another tough game but they need more quality wins to their resume...they've had more than enough quality losses where they are tetering on a .500 record overall. The Hoosiers probably need to make the finals of the conference tournament to get in and obviously winning it all would put them in for sure.
