Calling my shot now

Post by Shine »

When the brackets are announced on Sunday, though they'll deny like hell it was planned or intentional and that "we didn't even notice it until we were all done", lo and behold we'll find IU playing Texas Tech in the first round.
"Our staff is going to ensure that anyone who attends this University and wears the Indiana uniform will make this privilege among their highest priorities and not treat the opportunity as an entitlement,'' Crean said in a statement. "We fully expect our student-athletes to accept the responsibilities academically, athletically and socially that come with representing one of the top programs in college basketball history."

That'd be sweet. Make it happen.

Nah, I'm thinking 7/10 game.

that would be interesting for the obvious reason, but Sampson and RMK have a little bad blood from the game in 02 in Norman when Hollis Price went the length of the floor to score the game-winner in the closing seconds and the game clock started a wee bit late. Knight later insisted that Sampson forfeit the game out of sportsmanship.

subsequently, their relationship was a bit chilly.

That would be sweet if it happened. Every basketball fan in the country would be tuning in for that game. Hell, they should show the press conferences in prime time. The meltdown potential there alone would be tremendous.

I would hate that game with a passion. I still root for Knight to do well but not at the expense of the Hoosiers.

Nah, I'm thinking 7/10 game.
I see most "bracketologists" as having both teams as 10 seeds. But if either IU or T.Tech were to make a deep run or win their conference tourney, I could see the committee justifying giving out a 7 seed.

Lunardi has IU as a 10 currently. CBS has IU as a 9. FOX has IU as a 7. Those are the three I know off the top of my head. I'm inclined to think we're WELL above the 10 line. I mean we did finish alone in third place of the Big 10 and our RPI is in the low-mid 20's depending on which source you look at.

I say if IU loses on Friday to dUI then we'll end up in the 8/9 game, although a 7 still wouldn't shock me. A win against dUI and we get a 7 for sure. Win the BTT and we could shoot to a 5 but at least get a 6.

Kelvin has had success in conference tournaments....but since you reference Lunardi (the biggest idiot on planet earth). he had Villanova one of his "last 4 out" a couple weeks ago when their rpi was 17.

at least Seth "the virgin" Davis cites Jerry Palm as a source. Lunardi is the worst of the "bracketologists". truth of the matter is any fucking idiot or trained monkey can pick the bracket within about 90+% on Saturday night before "Selection Sunday (TM)". that's Lunardi's claim to fame.

Especially watching Knight try not to go into nuclear meltdown mode once Kelvin started throwing the "veiled-but-not-really" shots at Knight for all of his antics, 'cause I have a feeling that he would.
