Early in game thread: Baylor/Misery
This is funny.
Course, for you misery fans....pretty sad.
I still remember a lot of you misery fans on the anderson bandwagon. Guess we'll re-evaluate that in a couple years when he is fired.

Anderson doesn't have the horses to run his scheme quite yet, and I don't think expectations were such that he'd come in and bring down the house right away.
He'll get a couple more years to put the 40-minutes-of-hell plan in place before he gets run.

MU is in total rebuild, a basketball fan would know that, but for a guy who likes like Gumbys arch enemy, and pops in to run weak ass smack, i'll just let it go as"cementhead being cementhead".. Just make sure your blockheaded ass is in the CFB forum this year for the MU/aTm thread, there won't be silly fumbles, bullshit called fumbles, and bad playcalling to save your teams ass.(i'll actually be at the game, so my comments will have to wait in the game thread)
I'll put it this way blockey, you put up $20, and i'll bet MU beats aTm this year in football, and so you don't puss out, i'll even give you 4-1.
Deal cemento?

You will see many a post and smack coming from me. Long before this year, too. I'm no Johnny Come Lately to the CBB forum. Other regulars here will attest. Thanks for pulling the bandwagon card though. Too bad it doesn't apply here.
And make it $100. [Zyclone]$20 is a tip for the bellman.[/Zyclone] Also, I will be at the game this year in Columbia. You also have the same toad calling plays this year so using that as an excuse to why you lost and then saying you will win this year is also pretty weak.

The only time the 40-minutes-of-hell approach has ever been successful in college is when that team rolls with junior and senior leadership in the backcourt; Anthony and Hunt at Vegas, Day and Mayberry at Arkansas, then later Corey Beck and Clint McDaniel, etc. I'm discounting Loyola Marymount '90 because they were given a joke bracket on purpose after the death of Hank Gathers, at least up to the point UNLV properly ran them off the floor.
Oh, and all that shit was fashionable 15 years ago. You know, back when freshmen and sophomore guards with serious quicks, end-to-end defense, and a passable jumper were actually sticking around school becoming experienced floor leaders. Now it's all on-the-job training at the next level.
Mizzou gave a guy a job because his team sandbagged Kentucky on the right day. Typical of an athletic department that has been the longest running joke in the Big XII, but not surprising.

Anderson is a Nolan Richardson disciple.
Once again ... if he's allowed a few years to bring in the players he needs, Mizzou will be fine, assuming he can recruit, of course.
I don't think anybody expected him to come in and set the world on fire with Snyder's leftovers.
Good players, yes, but you don't suddenly teach juniors and seniors the discipline required to play heads-up defense for an entire game.

i don't know, i think Anderson was a pretty good hire.
Baylor has played some decent games this year....they were gonna catch someone napping and they've got two good players in Jarrels and Bruce.
i'd be pretty optimistic if i was Mizzou fan. it's mos def an upgrade from Quin.

And normally I'm a glass half full type. But last night was the most pathetic display of college basketball I've ever seen. I could understand if they laid an egg like this at the start of the year, but to do it at tourney time, and against freaking Baylor of all teams, is just mind boggling.King Crimson wrote: i'd be pretty optimistic if i was Mizzou fan.
I'll give Baylor this: Everthing they threw up in the 1st half went in. I think they shot an astronomical 64% in that first half. But the second half was just a horrible effort on D by Mizzou. They let 'em drive to the basket for uncontested lay-ups time and again. 40 minutes of hell? It was more like 40 minutes of "excuse me there, I didn't meant to get in the way, bro. It won't happen again".
Just a complete breakdown and a lack of effort. I blame that on coaching. Don't tell me it's just because they don't have enough talent or that they're still young. They managed to win 7 conference games with that talent, and probably should have won at least 2-3 more had they not given it away at the end. Again, I blame coaching.
I'm not optimistic.

the guy has noone, hannah and keon are decent, but lawrence is garbage, the rest are shit
he has 1 scholly this year, and has 6 next year, and there is some very good talent in state of missouri for him to get. suggs is a top 50 player in country, and if mU can land him and possibly a couple forwards(athletic), this team improves dramatically.
yeah, uab only beat kentucky that year
he has to get alteast 4 years, he has to clean out the shit, can't do that in 2 years with only 1 scholly a year.
this team should of been under .500 bailing on anderson now is assanine.

Done deal
your 20
my 100
interesting, Okie st 76 aTm 75.
I actually have no hatred for blockhead, i don't know him, don't care to know him, and he's just a poster on a message board. Off this board, he is probably a stand up dude, has an ambition and dream with his bbq sauce, fucking great job, i get a hard on when i see people take chances and actually succeed, or fail while trying. It takes balls to go for something you want , if i didn't i'd still be working at Chrysler painting mini-vans(pay is great, but fuck that place).
In the end i will have a free $20 come football season.

I'll be sure to let you know the first time SMS matters in any discussion of Big Time Basketball....
