They did, but shouldn't have. Not over K-State, and not over Missouri State.

Clear enough?

Btw, for everyone who doesn't want to listen to Jim Nance and Billy Packer:

Kevin Harlan will be doing radio play-by-play of the semis and the championship game. Westwood One usually has great coverage of the earlier round games as well, and will switch from blowouts to close games, unlike CBS' regional coverage.

I agree w/ all the #1 Seeds. I think tOSU should have been the overall #1 just b/c they were #1 and they won their Conference Tourney convincingly.

UNC has the toughest bracket of all the Top Seeds and Florida has the easiest bracket. Kansas getting the winner of Nova/UK in the 2nd Round is a kick in the nuts.

Duke getting a 6 Seed was too high. I think a 7-8 was more of what they deserved. I think Stanford and Arkansas getting is bullshit.

My thoughts exactly.
Duke finishes 7th in the ACC and gets a 6th seed in the tourney. How many of the committee members have American Express? :meds:

I hope VCU hammers them in the 1st round.

The Big East, in general, got screwed.

The conference got 6 bids, should have gotten 7 imho. Syracuse got screwed, but then again, that's what happens when you don't do enough to carry your own weight. If not for the fact that Butler, Xavier and Nevada all failed to win their conference tourneys, and Arkansas made such a deep run into the SEC tourney, Syracuse would be in.

ND and Louisville both got screwed on their seeding. Both were 6's, same as Dook, and either could have justified a 4 seed. ND in particular got screwed -- a first-round matchup against a live dog in Winthrop, and if they get by that, a potential matchup with Oregon in the U&L. Notwithstanding the relatively low seed for Louisville, the committee took decent care of them, giving them a de facto home pod site, and a potential matchup with an aTm team that stumbled a bit down the stretch (4-3 in their last 7). I like Louisville's chances at least into the Sweet 16, notwithstanding a relatively tough draw otherwise.

Marquette an 8? Granted, they stumbled down the stretch, but as recently as three weeks ago, there's no way anyone saw that coming.

Georgetown got a 2 seed, the East Regional and a decent draw, but I think they should have gotten a different pod site. The committee should have put them in Buffalo and Maryland in Winston-Salem. Winston-Salem is ACC country (hence, the locals will be rooting for Fredo in the second round should Fredo get by Taco Tech). Buffalo is Big East country.

Pitt got a 3 seed and a decent pod site, but got sent out West. So they have a potential Sweet 16 matchup with UCLA in San Jose.

I also think that if the pod site idea is to keep the top seeds as close to home as possible for the first two rounds, Memphis and aTm should have switched pod sites. Just mho. The way things turned out, Louisville is the beneficiary of that, not aTm.

I'm still scratching my head a bit over Florida being sent to the Midwest, although according to mapquest, St. Louis is about 100 miles or so closer to Gainesville than is either San Antonio or East Rutherford. So if Florida is the overall #1 (note: I think that should be tOSU based on overall body of work), I guess that's justifiable.

But none of this matters at this point, of course.

From what I read the SEC ended up number one in the RPI.(someone verify I don't have time). And if they were lending more weight to con tourneys, I get it. I don't know how FSU would do vs the SEC West. If you try to turn your victory over UF into FSU would win the SEC I am going to laugh. Arkansas beat UF THIS year too.

No, not the whole sec.

Vandy, Kentucky, Florida, and Tennessee are solid in the east. But the west was horrible and Arkansas couldnt even win that.

Again...your dumb ass twisted one lucky nut into winning or coming in second in the SEC. You're too stupid. That's like Auburn saying their national champs because they beat UF in football. Nope.

UF wasn't even full strength and here you are running your mouth.....well you can watch us on TV then.

Damn....NIT.

Hey moron,

How did "second...probably third" morph into winning or comming in second?

Calm down trix, i know you are used to getting ass raped and have your back against the wall but I am just talking.

BTW, FSU was full strength during the gate game?

i'll never have any fucking sympathy for boeheim until he 1) starts leaving the carrier dome in december (except for games at MSG) 2) plays decent opponents at home.

RACK the committee for taking teams' december scheduling to task.

I'm calm.......its all conjecture. Win more than seven games in your regular season or win the con tourney. THEN you won't have to bitch at me for not being able to read.

I like to think the Syracuse descision went something like this:

*************

Committee Chair: "OK so we're all in agreement that the last two at-large bids are going to Illinois and Syracuse?"

(Heads Nod)

"Ok then, now, moving on to some seeding issues, it appears . . .

Committee Member #1 (interrupting): "Wait a minute, let's bump the Cuse for Arkansas just so we can see how many radio and TV programs BO-HEEM goes whining to this week! I'll bet he covers at least a half dozen national shows by noon tomorrow."

(Laughter)

Chair (chuckling himself): "Good one. Lookout out West it looks like . . ."

Member #2 (interrupting): "Let's do it!"

#1: "How great will that be! He'll be trying to stick his goofey-looking mug in every micophone everywhere!"

#3: "Yeah! Bump em!"

Chair: Seriously gentlemen. We've got to keep moving along so . . .

(Chorus, pounding fists on table): "BUMP BO-HEEM! BUMP BO-HEEM! . . . ."

Chair: "Well I guess we can always blame Syracuse's early season scheduling? And Arkansas just finished a good run in the SEC tourney so most people won't know the difference."

It's whiny cunt teams like Syracuse that lose in the first round of the NIT and blame the letdown of not being allowed to lose in the first round in the NCAA tourney as the reason.

As well as OK St, but they may have had them at the Garden, not sure.

Yeah, OK St isn't in the tourney, but I think most people would've predicted they would be.

And Penn. For what that's worth. Typically a tournament team at least...

Okie State game was at MSG. I know Palm counts a neutral site game same as a road game for RPI purposes, but I don't know about the others.

Cuse-OK State was at the Garden. OSU was a schizo team with no depth. they had two really good players in Boggans and Curry.....but no depth at all after Muenelo got hurt.

they didn't deserve to be in, and they blew it in a huge way the last half (they were in the top 10, with some really solid wins).....they were money in the bank for most of the season. pretty major collapse, really. but "on any given night" they could play with anybody or get rolled by a nobody.
