...gets more than one bid into the dance, i'm going to be fucking pissed. to quote RJ: that league is absolute shit from top to bottom. memphis is the only decent dog in that league and anyone can win 30 games if your playing the likes of SMU and tulane twice a season. look for the tigers to bow out after three games again.
of course, this is all predicated on the notion that the mac will get screwed out of two bids again. but in all honesty, they would have only been deserving of two bids if toledo would have made it to the final.

hmmmm....Toledo played like crap for 3/4ths of the game and Lost yesterday.
Akron had Miami on the ropes...and Miami got it done.
Toledo and Akron should've biiiiiiiitch'slapped Miami!
but they DIDN'T!
props to all of the Oxford Hotties and to the "CHUCK" Burgers....

I will be interested to see how Memphis does this year. Hard to gauge how good they really are when they haven't played anybody. It's not their fault the rest of the conference sucks ass.

Memphis blew away the competition in C-USA. They seem to get lulled asleep in some games and then *BAM*, they can go on a 12-0 run just like that. I think Memphis is better than what y'all are giving them credit for. They did make the elite 8 last year and they seem to have more depth this year. So, I really don't get where the both of you see Memphis bowing out ealry. If anything, Memphis has a better shot at making the final four considering there aren't any dominent teams out there. They can hang with the big boy with their athleticism and perimeter shooting. And Dorsey is a load in the paint.

Who would even be consider as an at large from that Conference? There isn't a team outside of Memphis who warrants a selection. C-USA has basically fallen off the radar as a basketball conference. Memphis is hoping for the day that they are invited to a BCS conference because their athletic department is losing a good deal of money even with the success of the basketball program.

C'mon, it's always nice to see mid-majors get at-large bids (as long as it doesn't cost my team a bid, that is), but do you honestly think the MAC deserved two bids this year? No way.
If you're going to pimp a mid-major conference, you could make a better case for the MWC, MVC, A10, or CAA to get a third bid than you could for the MAC to get a second bid.

There have been plenty of years where I felt the MAC deserved two berths. This year certainly wasn't one. And I don't think any circumstance would've warranted two teams in.
Akron simply didn't earn an at-large bid, despite finishing with a very good record. You could argue their only real quality win was @ Oral Roberts. Beyond them, and Nevada (who they lost to), their out of conference schedule was a total joke.
They lost to an average-at-best Miami team earlier in the year, and had a chance to make up for it in the tournament final, and couldn't get it done.
Plus they had one shot at the league's (arguably) 2nd best team in Toledo, and couldn't win.

The same can be said for the A-10 this season. Syracuse, K-State, or Drexel deserved to get in over Xavier.Terry in Crapchester wrote:C'mon, it's always nice to see mid-majors get at-large bids (as long as it doesn't cost my team a bid, that is), but do you honestly think the MAC deserved two bids this year? you're right, terry. i was just going on emotion when i made that post, but seriously, it was a down year for the mac and after further notice, akron didn't play anybody decent. and as a mac fan, i'd never root for miami under any circumstance, but since the ex is a cleveland community college grad, well, there you go.
the mac has been too east heavy the past few years and it even seems the east has been weaker than normal. no complaints on my part.
