That's what I thought, and I know you in particular find it to be in pour form to nitpick spelling errors. I will go to the kitchen, pore myself a glass of some fine Midwest microbrew, and go pooring over the threads of others, in search of spelling errors.ucantdoitdoggieSTyle2 wrote:I never troll, Goobs. Nice.
But instead of searching for spelling errors, you might try looking for vocabulary errors, you worthless cur.

Oh, and Todd? There's no such thing as a couple of days of "worthless fishing". Some days are better than others on the water, but they're never worthless. You did catch a buzz, right?
The water's warming up and the Crappies will be moving in to spawn soon enough. Ahhh...
Re: I have a list of posters too...
They're already in the 6-8 foot depth here and getting ready to head to the 2-3 foot depth for spawning. God thems some good eatin', and easy catchin'.War Wagon wrote:The water's warming up and the Crappies will be moving in to spawn soon enough. Ahhh...
War cane pole and bobber with a minner.
Oh, and a beer and fourteen.
Re: I have a list of posters too...
I loved to fish the streams in the Northern Sierra Nevadas in NoCal when I was younger. Unfortunately, my fishing guide (my Grandfather) died in 1998. He always knew which streams were fished out, which were re-stocked, when they were stocked, etc, so all I had to do was show up with my reel, rod and kreel. Best part about it was that one of us would head upstream and the other downstream, so we'd just be off on our own for several hours. There's nothing like hiking up a mountain and pausing as you hear the wind blowing through the trees, looking around and not seeing another human being anywhere in sight. Feels like you're the only person on the planet.War Wagon wrote: Oh, and Todd? There's no such thing as a couple of days of "worthless fishing". On a somewhat related note... When my Grandfather died, my Grandmother offered up a bunch of his things to her kids and Grandkids. I made a bee-line for his fishing pole, which she gladly gave me. That thing is like the holy grail in my family...lol. I remember countless afternoons when he, my Dad and I would go fishing and my Dad and I wouldn't even get a nibble. We'd meet back up at the truck several hours later with nothing to show for a day of fishing and my grandfather would be pissed because he only got six. That guy was a true legend.
Lake fishing, on the other hand, usually starts at 4:30 AM and involves freezing your ass off for hours on end until about Noon, at which point you either slather on the SPF 45 sunblock and feel like a glazed donut all day, or you end up redder than Cinder's snatch after her Valtrex prescription runs out. In fact, the only thing good about lake fishing is getting fucked up, and even that's not much fun, since you've got to pack in plenty of water if you don't want to get dehydrated. Less for me, thanks.
Oh, and less ever wasting my time by dipping my line in the water to try and catch something named "crappie". And no, pronouncing it "Croppie" isn't fooling anyone.

Like many fly fishermen in western Montana where the summer days are almost Arctic in length, I often do not start fishing until the cool of the evening. Then in the Arctic half-light of the canyon, all existence fades to a being with my soul and memories and the sounds of the Big Blackfoot River and a four-count rhythm and the hope that a fish will rise. Eventually, all things merge into one, and a river runs through it. The river was cut by the world's great flood and runs over rocks from the basement of time. On some of those rocks are timeless raindrops. Under the rocks are the words, and some of the words are theirs. I am haunted by waters.

If you tried it, you'd think different. Properly filleted and cooked in a smoker, you'd skip the Krispy Kremes and McSkillet burrito and have it for breakfast any day of the week.

So you weren't fishing, you were "oystering"... for a profit?Toddowen wrote: This is what we're going after
Nothing wrong with that, I guess.
Fishing is recreational to me. Can't imagine trying to make my double wides rent payment off that, but to each his own.
Better luck next time, eh.

Newflash. Your goal is to land your shit... in the water. Not only that, you're trying to haul in those little fishies that call that river... a home. Not Joe U&L standing 20 feet to your left. You're welcome.
