RACK Jay and thanks.

Except I think you meant to say ....

"As for MSN...haven't watched it enough to be sure. CNN and FOX are both guilty of pontification and sabre rattling. FOX pundits tend behave more self-righteousness and blind loyalty to all things conservative. CNN isn't quite as pompous or buffoonish. They're more like the dirty hippies of news. Damn hippies."

I can't disagree. But the market for such an outlet as Fox was created due to the overwhelming bias of the other major news outlets .....

Necessity is the mother of invention. The problem is MONEY. It takes money to run these things and as soon as MONEY is involved ... objectivity gets thrown out the window. IMHO. Each outlet has people they need to "please" else the money won't flow.

My thread got hijacked into a who sucks more thread.

CNN or FoxNews?

How come everyone uses Fox instead of Fox News?

Do we use NBC instead of CNBC now?

If I say I was watching Family guy on Fox, does that make me a republican war-monger?

If I say I watched BSU pull off a badass upset over the okies on Fox, does that make me a republican war-monger?

IMO, all of them suck and if you think one of them is good then you are probably a retarded ass sheep.

Hey fuckwit, you do realize one of the foundational "tenets" of the press, if you will, is to serve as a check against the government, don't you? The Fourth Estate?

"FOXNews" is a propaganda outlet for the RNC, nothing more. If you're going to watch it at least admit it to yourself.

Ever watch the Money Matters show? If you have, and don't find it to be laughable, you have blinders on. That and the fact that memos have been leaked where Fox is specifically courting a point of view instead of "the news".

Concur on your take of FOX's launch point. And money is indeed a major motivating factor which puppeteers the network strings. It goes hand in hand with politics. But keep in mind, ABC, CBS and NBC all began as straightforward news entities, minus corporate noodling. To a degree, they still are. The Big 3's broadcasts have less of the superficial glitnz (old t.v. term for glitter) of their cable infotainment bretheren, though that isn't saying much. Their product is a lamentable dilution from what it used to be.

Even with that said, I'll take NBC or ABC over cable news. A less bitter apple than a couple of sour oranges.

And a RACK to you sir. "Cable Infotainment", very precise term.

I don't watch any of the news outlets. They all make me ill. The only t.v. news I watch I get from the internet too, and I can't understand a word she's saying ....

Really, I thought it was to sell a product that contained information of interest to the public. Besides, if that were true, explain the press's 7 years of fellatio of the Clinton Administration up to his implosion following the Lewinsky affair? Spare me the "dittohead" label...I voted for Clinton. I'm just disgusted by the left-wing agenda of the mainstream media who seem to feel that it's their job to "educate" us in the way that we should think if we dare have views that differ from theirs. I don't think that was one of the founding tenets of the press, was it?

FoxNews has a definite slant to the right, but less so than CBS's lean to the left. It's kind of a pick your poison thing. Personally, I either get my news from FoxNews or via the internet (Reuters releases, that sort of thing). I'm hardly a big Bush fan, but at this point I'm so sick of the daily Bush-bashing that I'd rather watch an episode of "The Ropers" than tune into CBS news or CNN.

Hahaha, not really. Well, maybe? I can't remember the last time I actually saw a man with "nice feet"?

I'm able to appreciate the female form, without being a dyke. Hahaha.

I like the classic femme the best.

I work for a consulting firm. Our home office is in Boston, MA. I work "on-site" at one of our clients. It is in Jamaica Plain, MA. It is a hospital. It's a state run facility. I consider some of the hospital staff to be my friends. They are defined as "state workers."

So... if said, "my friends in JP who work for the state" you would extrapolate that Jamaica Plain is one of the States? Yikes...

I know you are shocked to read this, but, I gotta defend the tard on this one.

There was some ambiguity and I think his statement could have been made with more precision and accuracy.

I actually interpreted his statement as ... "My friends in DadeCounty work for the State of Florida."

But then I was eating some

Image

So I wasn't inclined to get all retentive about it because the overall point he was making was .... it's not all that uncommon for young, rising professionals to combine resources for fun and profit (offsetting the costs of living expenses to save for something further down the road).
