I think IU has a shot to win, in the same way that Lloyd Christmas had a shot with Mary Swanson. But hey, it's the tourney and you never know.

I think it's going to be a competitive game throughout though. IU has stayed close in every game this year which is a huge accomplishment for CKS considering what he inherited. I just think that Collison will be able to do too much damage off the dribble and I'm not sure we have an answer on D for Shipp. DJ White needs to have a big game and we'll need to be hot from outside to keep it close. With both teams having a defensive focus I expect a relatively low scoring game.

UCLA- 64
IU- 57

I give CKS an A fucking plus for his first year in B-town and the future is extremely promising. Howland got the UCLA program back on track in a few years and I think we'll see very similar results with CKS and IU.

That was a hideous game......a near comeback can't save those of us who had to watch that. The first half might very well have been the ugliest half in recent memory.

The Jayhawks (i'm hoping, wishing, praying) await UCLA, Seer......

I think it's fair to label the first half hideous but the second half was extremely entertaining. IU scored 36 after a pathetic 13 in the first half and UCLA scored 34 after a not much more impressive 20 in the first. IU shot well enough in the second half to up their overall total to 33%. Had IU been able to connect better from the FT line the outcome might have been different.

Overall though I'm very pleased with year 1 of the Kelvin Sampson era and think he'll produce similar results to what Howland did with UCLA and what ol Roy did with UNC after they took over floundering power programs.

UCLA will throttle Pitt in the next game.

Saw it live along wih WSU-Vandy. I don't think I was completely prepared to handle the full force of March Madness in person. I think yesterday took at least 2 years off my life.

Props to the UCLA fans and band for pulling hard for WSU. Sorry they couldn't finish. Great season though. Everyone but Clark back next year. Look out.
