Not surprised at all that he is leaving Kentucky. I thought there would have been a possibility of him even being let go. Great hire for Minnesota.

I know Mark Few likes Gonzaga but if I think he would do a great job at Kentucky.

Mark it down:

Next coach at Kentucky is Billy Gillispie
"Our staff is going to ensure that anyone who attends this University and wears the Indiana uniform will make this privilege among their highest priorities and not treat the opportunity as an entitlement,'' Crean said in a statement. "We fully expect our student-athletes to accept the responsibilities academically, athletically and socially that come with representing one of the top programs in college basketball history."

Reliable is certainly up for debate BUT I have been told that it's done to the point if ATM were to lose tonight there could be an announcement as soon as tomorrow.

Cats Pause is creaming over themselves that Billy D is coming and the next coach. One poster says Billy was contacted weeks ago. In other news, a snowball was found frozen in hell.

Don't shoot the messenger. Just reporting what I'm hearing, and thus far my track record is pretty good.

BTW, a nice troll job would be something like...

You willing to bet the same?

Lemme guess....you can't respond due to work or some shit until UK names a replacement....

Offer still stands. I will Hungus myself from T1B if BCG leaves A&M. Wanna bet?

Indy, you might want to ease up a bit.

A co-worker of mine said the same thing yesterday ... though it was more along the lines of "if aTm were to make it to the Final Four, BG can write his own ticket." Dude also said he may replace Smith at Ky.

Did you already take your trip out West?? My guess is yes and you hit up BALCO while you were there because that is some serious rage you've got going on Frisco just off of me posting info I've heard. Making a Hungus bet off of a coaching rumor is so retarded it makes a Jon post look like MENSA quality postings.

Besides we all know that if Billy G does leave and ATM reverts back to their old form you'll be non-existent here anyway!!!

I've heard nothing solid on this one but there seems to be 3 names getting the most run right now. One is Tom Crean from Marquette. I'm just not sure if he'd want to go to UM where he'd go toe to toe with his boy Izzo all the time. Two is Chris Lowery from SIU. This one makes sense if UM goes the "up and coming coach" route. The last name is one that I have a very hard time thinking could be true, Steve Lavin.

It was part of my post-game melt.

In any case, I was in the CBB Forum when we were 0-16. I was in the CBB Forum posting when we landed Antoinne Wright 5 years ago. I even started a thread saying how I could not believe Watkins landed the #1 prep SG in the nation. Please tell me you are trolling with the bandwagon card you're trying to play. Hell, I used to post about CBB in the CFB forum. Even you said MANY a time "You know there IS a forum to discuss this."

Just throw one of these guys at the end of my last sentence and you'll get where I was coming from.

At the risk of angering IF...

I'm hearing lots of rumors now about Gillispie going to Arkansas. None of them are what I would call well sourced but there is enough quantity of rumors that I figured I'd post it. I'm pretty skeptical about this one. Leaving for UK I could see but not for the Razorbacks.

Now that Marshall has stated that he is not interested in the USF job, I would have to think we make a serious run at John Pelphrey. We might have a better chance at landing him for a couple of reasons:

1) Former Kentucky AD C.M. Newton is helping our AD Doug Woolard in the coaching search

2) One of USF's major donors is Chris Sullivan, from Outback Steakhouse. Sullivan is from Kentucky and I am sure he will have a big say with Woolard on getting Pelphrey. Word also has it that if Pelphrey is hired that Sullivan will make a major gift toward the building of our new Basketball practice facility.

Woolard and Pelphrey have spoken over the phone last week, but now I think the talks will intensify.

Stan Heath (Arkansas) is now available since he's been fired. Rumor has it that Pelphrey is staying at South Alabama.

I could see it. The roothogs were once a major player in college basketball, have a palacial arena, the world's most loyal fans, and Wal-Mart money behind them. Wouldn't be surprised if they wanted to regain that lofty status. They can thank Nolan Richardson for taking them from the penthouse to the outhouse.
