If he's the old Bert, sans the cheap shots, the Wings may have made the best deal at the deadline. Calder has been an excellent pick up as well. Playing on a line with Hudler and Lang, he's got 2 goals and 8 assists and a +7 in 10 games with the Wings. He was a -31 with the Flyers...huge difference moving to a contending team.

The team is slowly getting guys back from injury. Got Franzen back on Tuesday...still missing Zetterberg and Cleary. One point back of Nashville with a game in hand and the final head-to-head in Music City next week...the Central Division and the top spot in the conference is still very much up for grabs. It's amazing this team has done as well as it has with guys like Zetterberg out of the lineup. The hope is to have all of their regulars back before the playoffs. Zetterberg's back has been touch-and-go for a while.

The Jackets win in a shootout...Blitz's favorite player nets the winner. They pull even with Nashville with their game in Calgary in progress.

First impressions of Bert...skated well, was strong on the puck and took it to the net on several occasions. His hands are probably a little rusty but physically, he looked okay. The Blue Jackets defense had a helluva time tonight and I think playing him on a line with Datsyuk and/or Zetterberg could be a lethal combination.
