The brother can't drive...

Post by Mikey »

No shit.

Dude was driving somebody else's $1.5 million Enzo at Irwindale and fucking totaled it.
Griffin Unscathed in Ferrari Crash

Poor, poor Ferrari.
Comedian Eddie Griffin escaped from a car crash unscathed Monday after smashing a rare $1.5 million sports car into a wall on a California racetrack.

The "Norbit" actor, 38, was practicing for a charity race on the Irwindale Speedway to promote his upcoming film "Redline" when he lost control of the red Ferrari Enzo and ploughed it into a concrete barrier.

Video footage of the accident shows the Ferrari -- which belonged to Redline's executive producer Daniel Sadek -- screeching before it ricocheted off the barrier, leaving the car damaged beyond repair.

After the incident, Griffin joked, "'Undercover Brother''s good at karate and all the rest of that, but the brother can't drive!"

The film's publicist, Wendy Zocks says, "He walked away completely unscratched, but probably a little shaken."

While Sadek is thankful the actor survived the incident, he is devastated his "dream car" got written off in the process.

He laments, "I'm glad Eddie came out of the crash OK, but my dream car got destroyed.

"I went to my trailer for about 15 minutes and I thought, 'There's people dying every day. A lot of worse things are happening in the world.'"

Only 400 Ferrari Enzos, made between 2002 and 2004, exist in the world.

I wouldn't let my best friend drive my Ford Ranger, let alone a million dollar rig.

There was a video of it on Yahoo.
Dude couldn't have been going more than about 30 when he lost control and went up one of those concrete traffic barriers.
Truly pathetic.

From most of what I have read and heard, the owner of the car claims it is "totaled."

Bullshit.

Fucked up, yes! Totaled, um .... nah!

That car can be, and will be fixed.

Looks to me liked a staged publicity stunt for an upcoming movie or some shit. Did you see the photographer standing behind the concrete barrier taking pictures? Dude never flinched when the car smacked into it.

Damn, it takes a sincere effort from the rest of the member list to appear as stupid as you just did, roach aside (but that's a given). You did it w/out effort... rack.

We're not talking about a a Toyota Camry here. Or a Trailbalzer. Or a Boxter for that matter. It's a one of a kind... well, apart from the other 199 parked in various, MUCH smarter peoples' garages, not in the hands of a novice on a race track. Unlike your take, you don't slap an Enzo back together. You don't yank a few dents back out, jerry-rig a new suspension, and take it to the local paint shop for a new job and claim, "Good!"

Enzos are a one of a kind, idiot. Slap some bondo on your take and do one of those FTFY thingies to your post.

It was definitely a publicity "event" (I assume you did catch that little detail), but I'm pretty sure the collision wasn't intentional.

I'm not.

How in fuck do you lose control of a vehicle like that at 30 mph?

Why doesn't the photographer so much as even twitch when the "accident" occurs? He doesn't because he knows it's coming. Ergo, that was a staged "crash" for the sake of publicity.

I actually think you might be right about this. I was stunned the guy didn't flinch the first time I saw it....of course I replayed it a few times to make sure I didn't miss something. The guy behind the barrier literally didn't move at all.

So...a guy who works as a professional photographer at a racetrack(I have a buddy who does this in NoCal), whose job includes hanging over barriers to get the shot...

wasn't phased when he witnessed what was probably his 800th wreck on that corner?

I think its pretty safe to say that Griffin wasn't driving on the normal race track at Irwindale. The drivers education red cones out front should have told you.

So I don't think this guy had too much familiarity with this track setup, hence him not moving makes it a little fishy. I'm thinking he didn't move because he's seen plenty of 180MPH crashes at various events close up. Whats a measley 30 MPH fender bender to him?

While I'm not of the conspiracy ilk, I will say that I don't care how many wrecks you've witnessed (even 800). I don't care how familiar you are w/the track and photographing cars... when a 1 ton object is careening directly towards you, wheels screeching, and with enough force that it moves the jersey barriers that are no more than a foot in front of you... you fucking flinch.

Granted, you're squeezing a hell of a lot of stupidity out of your tube today, but this particular glob juuuuust isn't quite enough to interfere with or interdict that little thingy called a human's reflex. That thingy we're all born with that helps keep us fucking alive.

Throughout the next year, maybe we could surprise you with a swinging baseball bat towards the head. You know... maybe tomorrow as you're rounding aisle 3 at the gorcery store. A week later as you open your front door. The day after that from the back seat of your car. Then maybe from behind a Douglas Fir as you walk to your favorite hole. Betcha after the 100th time, we'd STILL find a pile of shit deep in your drawers.

Boy, you sure seem to have lots of buddies in various professions.

Dude hangs over the barriers, you say? Where? at the local kiddie go-cart track?

Real race tracks have these things call catch fences erected on top of the walls that go up maybe 15-20 feet. I doubt that your photograper "buddy" is climbing up those or hanging over barriers to get a shot, unless he's really stupid.

Then again, he IS your buddy, so maybe it's not so far-fetched after all....

...nah, you don't have any real friends. It's just YOU being full of shit again and not knowing wtf you're talking about.
I hate sigs. But I lost a stupid fucking bet because a KC Paul lookalike and his sorry ass team were inferior to the greatness that is the Pittsburg Steelers.

Sears Point --

http://rds.yahoo.com/_ylt=A0Je5xax8wpGG ... nt2_xl.jpg

Looks like quite the tall fences there, eh tard?

Actually, I'll tell you what...

http://images.search.yahoo.com/search/i ... 8-msgr&b=1

There's a whole bunch of them. Go ahead and point out which pics show these fences you speak of.

I guess Sears Point isn't a "real" track then?

Go ahead and make your case...the only evidence you could come up with against its "reality" is that they host the Non Athletic "Sport" Centered Around Rednecks.

http://www.cb-racing.com/thunderhill_pics.html

Here's some pics of Thunderhill. Again, I'd appreciate it if you could point out these fences you claim "real" tracks have (NASCAR tard talking about anything to do with "real" racing is priceless).

Dude, just because it would appear that you have no friends, don't assume that others share your fate. Think of it more as a function of your stupidity, rather than some fantasy world cooked up by others to decieve you...you'd appear a little less delusional that way.

Then again, he IS your buddy, so maybe it's not so far-fetched after all....
Yeah, believe it or not...they actually have photographers at racetracks. Pictures all over the news/internet out front should have told you. Matter of fact, in addition to being a semi-successful motorcycle racer, my good friend(who I don't see nearly as much of as I'd like, but he lives 650 miles away) has done this professionally for probably 15 years or so now. That's of course when he's not actually filming races from a motorcycle on the track.

Do you put effort into being this fucking dumb, or does it come naturally?

It's just YOU being full of shit again and not knowing wtf you're talking about.

You just claimed "real" tracks have fences all around them. I just proved that they don't.

I guess one of us knows what the fuck we're talking about, eh? And as always, smart money says it ain't you.

Photographers don't hang over barriers at race tracks with speeding cars coming right at them, dumbass. Neither do they stand there non-chalantly unflinching behind one when a car smashes up right in front of them.

It was a staged accident for publicity, and it worked.

Which part of this don't you get?

Oh, the arguement for arguements sake, the gratuitous insult for gratuitous insults sake, right?

Carry-on, then.
