All You need is cash
When you fail to inherit any real talent and you have no way to make a living I guess selling off your stake in your fathers legacy is the only thing left to do.
How in hell did Julian end up with those rights, anyway? Johnny must have taken care of him in the will. Certainly Yoko wouldn't have.
Well, at least he stopped making records.
[quote]NEW YORK (Reuters) -
Julian Lennon, the 44-year-old elder son of John Lennon, has sold a financial stake in his late father's compositions for the Beatles to Primary Wave Music Publishing, a year-old New York City concern, The Wall Street Journal reported.
The deal is to be announced on Friday, the Journal said.
Terms of the deal weren't disclosed, the Journal said. But it quoted the parties as saying in a statement that the share of the catalog was "significant."
The deal relates to the songwriting income generated by the compositions, as opposed to the publishing rights. The rights to most of the compositions John Lennon wrote with
Paul McCartney are owned by Sony/ATV Music Publishing.[quote]

Daddy dies, kid inherits.
At some point in time a selling of the rights would inevitably take place.

Or maybe Julian should wait 'til he's 3 ft under so his douchebag (no offense, Douchebag, i luv u) of a son (or wife of said douchebag :horrah:) can cayesh in .... ?
Fugg that.

Ugh. Dude is selling a future stake in the rights to his family heritage to get cash, with no regard for what is done with the music.poptart wrote:Brilliant dedouche.tion.Mister Bushice wrote:How in hell did Julian end up with those rights, anyway? Johnny must have taken care of him in the will.

Most families of famous people guard that trademark, they don't sell it off for cash and:
And hopefully the last.As part of the Lennon deal, Primary Wave Music has committed to help Julian Lennon market a forthcoming album, yet to be titled; it is to be his first since 1999's "Photograph Smile."
Oh well I need to get an epic flying mount first.Aren't you like a half-admin. at this board, Bushice ... ?
Sorry dude. End of a long, long friday workday. Missing the slash in the end bracket constitutes nothing more than a typo, but smack on, brother, smack on.And no mastery of the quote function.

actually yoko dangled cash at julian his whole life.
she gave the other kid all the jack he wanted, and made julian beg for cash. he tried to have a singing career, while trying to make his own life and name for himself, while the gook treated him like shit.
i dont blame him for selling it, time to move on and finally enjoy the benefits of your fathers singing career.
fuck yoko
