We the undersigned, ask that you join us in seeking a permanent halt to the annual strafing of the city by the Blue Angels, for the following reasons:

edit: BTW, they do their airshow around the former NAS Moffett Field down in Mountain View and Sunnyvale and not in the city of faggots. So the petition is pointless. None of the demonstration flying occurs near San Fagsissyco.

At fleet week every year they fly in formation under the Golden Gate Bridge. Sure, it's on a Saturday, but I'm guessing one wrong move by one of the pilots could result in the death of about 100 people on the structure as well as make an already hideous Bay Area commute even more nauseating for a year or so while they repair the bridge.

Additionally, they have to make u-turns somewhere for their next flyover and the waterway isn't that wide. They're flying over the city at some point.

The Blue Angels have been used for years as a recruiting tool. But haven't we as adults and our two-second attention span kids gotten over the "OOOOOOoooohhh...jets!" phase long, long ago?

They are not flying over the actual city of San Fran at ANY point. They will fly over land mass somewhere well south and at a much higher altitude. Flying basic form is common in about well... every fucking town that has a military airbase by any air squadron.

Any time we carried external ordnance out of Moffett we flew over water and over the various bay bridges all the way out to the Pacific.

The air show at Moffett is over a very densely populated area but ALL manuevers from every air show act including the Blues is designed to where if there was a collision then the damage didn't spray the crowd at the show.... unlike the Paris Air Show from way back.

I saw a Blue Angel death in person when I was 11 - at the Niagara Falls Airport. Two planes clipped wings at high altitude. One lone chute fell to Earth.

Look dude, flying is dangerous no matter what you are in. Hornets are especially dangerous due to their designed instability for maneuverability but controlled by the flux capacitor computers "flight control system."

The Blue Angels annually terrorize the City, flying directly over it for two days of the actual show, plus a couple days of practice during the preceding week. While the tricks are performed over the Bay, the jets are howling right over the entire city for hours as they regroup, etc.

And really, what is the point? To terrify civilian populations? I hate the motherfuckers and their hotdog military cowboy bullshit. And I really hope this latest fuckup sounds the death knoll for this jingoistic propaganda network.
