Stephen Lynch

Post by NjSooner »

Anyone here a fan of Stephen Lynch? Or even heard of him? I have The Craig Machine album for download if anyone wants something funny to listen to.
A doctor answers his phone and hears the familiar voice of a colleague on the other end of the line. "We need a fourth for poker," said the friend. "I'll be right over," whispered the doctor. As he was putting on his coat, his wife asked, "Is it serious?" "Oh yes, quite serious," said the doctor gravely. "In fact, there are three doctors there already!

Saw him live at the State Theatre in Kzoo with the late great Mitch Hedberg. Lynch is a very funny dude. Most of those the guitar-playing comics are kind of hack but he's one of the few that I like.

NjSooner,

I'm a big time Lynch fan. You need to download "Superhero" and "Little Bit Special" too. Plus, if you can find it, and it isn't too difficult, pick up a copy of the "Live at the El Rey" DVD. Hysterical stuff. The commentary turns it into a whole different show. The extras are solid. I've seen Lynch live twice now, and both shows were nails. Very very funny guy. And sick and twisted.

Bonus.

I have both songs, and i downloaded El Ray a while back, but I dont have the extras... is it worth the money to pick up the dvd just for the extras?

Actually, I when I said "Superhero" and "Special", I meant the full content of both CD's. And yes, if you're a fan, the DVD is absolutely worth it. Like I said, the commentary is almost like a new comedy set. Informative and funny. The extras include another half dozen songs edited out of the 'El Rey' show, including the hysterical 'Kitten'. There's earlier Lynch footage, including 'Jim Henson' and a tour diary that's good.

Go buy it. Or rent and burn.
