NCAA infractions
Someone on here used to link to a database of NCAA infractions listed by school. I lost it when I switched comps a year ago. Does anyone know that link?

Thanks PSU. I had some friend of mine who is a Texas fan trying to claim they had never had any "major" NCAA violations. Heck they had more than I thought they did!!!

I disagree. "Tony Mandarich" and "bust" should be always be mentioned at the same time. Be it his pro football career, or what he's been doing since...

Bubba Smith....thaaaaat's about it.MgoBlue-LightSpecial wrote:Hey, anyone know of any Michigan State athletes who have made their mark in pro sports?
I'm in a heated debate with uhhhh, some guys at work, and I really need a long list of MSU stars.
Thanks in advance.
And as a Packer fan, Mandrich can suck a goat.
There once was a petiton to Webster's to add him to the meaning
of "bust.

Yeah, guys like Kirk Gibson and Magic Johnson were mere blips on the radar.Cornhusker wrote:Bubba Smith....thaaaaat's about it.MgoBlue-LightSpecial wrote:Hey, anyone know of any Michigan State athletes who have made their mark in pro sports?

See, he's not looking for that info to use on THIS board. That's the difference. jtindall was getting killed over here, and then went to a lifeline, and got busted doing so. SCS is looking for professional help to use on a minor league board. I'm good with that. It's like Clemens pitching in A ball.

My vote for homer post of the year....shit, you're (blindly) homering on your fellow Sooners! That's as bad as Vito. Reminds me of SCIII....the_ouskull wrote:See, he's not looking for that info to use on THIS board. I can tink of two, both in the 90s. Aubrey Beavers and Cedric Jones.Believe the Heupel wrote:If you're going to claim that Mandarich isn't a bust, then you're pretty much disqualified from talking about Brian Bosworth. I can't really think of any other OU player who was drafted highly and didn't pan out. Hell, even the Boz was taken in a supplemental draft, not the real draft.MgoBlue-LightSpecial wrote:Does OU fan really want to chime in on a discussion about busts?
And Tony Banks had a solid career in the NFL. Which is what I was getting at. He wasn't all-world, sure, but he started an awful lot of games.

Aubrey was a 2nd rounder. He slipped because of "charicter concerns".... he smoked pot.Believe the Heupel wrote:I thought Beavers was a fourth-rounder. Ced Jones started for a few years.

Aubrey wasn't the sharpest knife in the drawer from what i understand (and i don't mean smoking weed, either).
i have to say, while not in the "bust" category as defined above, i thought Torrance Marshall had a chance to really play....but he just looked slow in the "League" (and really bulked up?)....but also may have been a casualty of intellect. the M. Stoops quote after the big INT at ATM in 00 is telling in that T. March "played the play wrong all week in practice", I suspose. the Orange Bowl version of TM was lean and mean and a missile to the ball. at GB, he looked too big and a step slow (and apparently really struggled learning the schemes). FWIW.

Torrance, in the L, was a product of great college athlete 'cause, for his size, he was way too f'ing fast. In the pros, he wasn't big, and he was just another average-sized guy with average-linebacker spped. There wasn't an intimidation factor, which he thrived on in college..
...and he wasn't the sharpest bulb on the tree. But it was still a Merry Christmas against A&M in 2000. Ah, memories...
And, if you're gonna talk about 4th round picks being "busts," then I'm pretty sure that every school has a boneyard in their closet. Cedric Jones was a bust considering how high he got taken, but they were complete idiots for taking him that high in the first place. He was a 3rd or 4th round guy. I remember being half-drunk, about to go to a date party with a chick that I was only going with for the T-shirt, and seeing his name get called. I almost fell off of the stool I was on...
And, for every guy like Ced, we've had a guy like Kelly Gregg. 6th-round-pick,-still-playing-Kelly-Gregg. Every year since Stoops has been here, we've had a defensive player get drafted, and this year Rufus (6th) was the lowest round so far...
Dusty Dvorcek was Bears scout team last year, and Clint Ingram was playing pretty well for the Jags. Brodney Pool got a lot of PT for the Browns, Dan Cody got hurt in camp, and Donte Nickleson played a bit for the Bucs. Tommie Harris. Teddy Lehman. Andre Woolfolk has been hurt. Jimmy Wilkerson has been playing a lot for the Chefs. Roy freakin' Williams. Hell, even William Bartee gets burn for the Chefs. Travian Smith played for the Raiders forever... But, from the actual 1990's, no, we didn't have a lot of defensive guys... In fact, other than Travian Smith, we're pretty much looking at Joe Bowden getting the most playing time... Scary.
