Even though TRIX said it could never happen
Billy D apparently talked to the Grizzlies...he wanted to be coach and GM...read the story on Yahoo and I am too lazy to link...
one of the quotes says Donovan would never make the same mistakes his mentor Pitino made...why would he go to the NBA...TRIX said it himself that Billy is never leaving G Ville...
just sayin

Reading comprehension is not your strong point...this article was written May 6th SUNDAY...he wasn't supposed to leave for IRELAND until Friday what May 4th, dipshit...no source cited well what is a source close to Donovan??? Says Saturday night (a source close to Donovan) gave some insight...read the fucking story and what section is pasted in so then he couldn't have been in Houston recruiting then if he was in Ireland...it's ok for him to talk to other people right? It wasn't written for this week dumbass...Whatever makes YOU feel better...but alas everything with you is a struggle...can't even discuss rationally that maybe just maybe Billy D might want to hit the NBA at some point...who can blame him...oh and before you start banging the drum...you were right about Oden...dude bolted...good for him...all his talk was just that talk...so hey...you got that one right...
Nevertheless, the Memphis owner wasn't inclined to turn both his executive and coaching responsibilities over to a college coach with no pro experience.
"Billy was not 100 percent sure that he wanted it," a source close to Donovan said Saturday night, "but they called him, so he asked for the world and did not get it."
According to one Donovan associate, it was believed that the Grizzlies would've been willing to pay him $5 million a year to coach the team. Donovan has long been intrigued with the NBA, and the prospects of Memphis getting a chance to draft Ohio State's Greg Oden or Texas' Kevin Durant in the 2007 draft made the job more attractive to him.
Donovan returned to work with the Gators this week. He made recruiting visits to Patrick Patterson in West Virginia and Jai Lucas in Houston before leaving on a golf trip to Ireland on Friday with several close friends. He had also been canvassing contacts to replace a departed assistant coach on his staff.

but I guess the they called him and he asked for the world and didn't get it sign out front is wrong...
Can I ask you a serious question...you talk about others leaving programs and what not as if it is standard...but when people talk bout coaches and what not leaving FLA it is a bitter fight with you...?
just asking...I mean I wouldn't mind a discussion about Billy D bolting for the pros...weighing it out and what not...probably be interesting to see what other opinions are out there...
but I guess I'll have to wait for that discussion...

So everytime someone CALLS HIM, he is leaving? You act as if he is soliciting offers. THEY called him.
Come on dude, you are reaching for no reason....
Nevermind. This is going no where.

no you stated that he would never leave G VILLE...i just pointed out that he got called by the NBA...your stance is/was his style would never work in the NBA because he would learn from Pitino lessons...
again I hope he stays at G VILLE...the SEC is making serious waves in roundball now with FLA, Tenn on the rise, KY probably getting back to prominence, and the like...to me when the power conferences are all top notch it makes for more exciting seasons...
trust me I have nothing against Billy D...maybe against FLA as a whole (joke ok)...but hey just pointed out that he got called by and NBA team after you so adamently stated he would never leave that is all...
to me he is setting up for another good run if he can land lucas/patterson or one of them...to go along with the great class he has already assembled...
again just talking man...just talking...

the funnay thing about Billy D, is that when the big Coaches meeting they have every year and talk at the Final Four and later on about ethics and stuff.....about 5 years ago, pretty much every time the scuttlebutt afterwards were that the two "dirtiest" recruiters were widely seen to be Donovan and Calipari by other coaches.
this just hearsay from coaches....but i CAN say my pops is a lawyer that has represented OU at some of these meetings (and a former D-II baller himself)...so, there's no link but i give you that it's pretty first hand type stuff.

as far as Krueger, again to quote my pops, who knew Lon's attorney inna day. the Lon-ster started looking for another job the instant he got to K State and UF.
