Post by KC Scott »

Got a really nice deal on an '06 Avalon Touring with 14k miles
'd been looking at these since the changed the body style in '05 and had one as a rental.
This has the most interior room of any Jap sedan I'd ever been in - handles great and as with most Toyota's should last at least 7+ years before the wheels fall off.

RACK you.

I never knew anybody who bought a new car with 14K miles on it. Somebody did a lot of test driving.

Your point is only relevant if ownership of "American" car makers stock is limited to Americans only.

Here's your first clue.

True..... amazing the lack of gray matter
RevLimiter wrote: EXACTLY...and also props for doing his part to put more Americans out of work.

FYI - Ford and GM have plants in Mexico - Gee that didn't put any Americans out of work.... huh?

I looked at comparable US cars, - The Ford 500 was crap, I watched a fully loaded 2005 go at auction last year for 11,000 - about 50% of it's sticker the year before. I also looked at a Caddie STS decent looking car, till you go look at E-Bay Motors and watch them going for 40% off sticker one year later. Now go look at Toyota resale.

I still drive an F-150 Super crew, my third, but unfortunetly what Ford does for Trucks and SUVs, they missed by a mile for Sedans.

When Ford or GM learn to engineer cars like the japs, they'll sell more cars.

It's painfully obvious to everyone here, that you don't have a clue. Making fun of you is just a byproduct of that.

Let's review ...
someKCretard wrote:EXACTLY...and also props for doing his part to put more Americans out of work.
It is quickly pointed out that Toyota manufactures vehicles in the US. (hint; that puts more Americans to work)

You retort with this gem ...
someKCretard wrote:But the MONEY goes overseas, you stupid fuck.
What MONEY is that? The money spent building their plants, the money paid to all those workers, the tax revenue, utilities, profit sharing, healthcare, etc?

Funny, I don't see you complaining about US carmakers building plants in Canada & Mexico. I'd guess that US based companies put more Americans out of work and ship more cash out of the US than foreign companies.

I hope you never have children.

Cool....let's ALL just buy Toyotas, Hondas, Nissans, Kias, Hyundais, etc. and THEN you'll be a lot more clear about where I'm coming from on this. Or not. Then again most of you guys that buy that fucking shit are the ones that bitch the loudest when you have to buy replacement parts for them....if you can in fact find them in some cases.

Doesn't matter- all I know is I will NEVER EVER for any reason whatsoever own a Japanese car. I hope they all catch fire and burn to the ground.

Did you ever think that the reason replacement parts for Toyotas and Hondas are harder to find is because there isn't a NEED for them?

Whatever....I put 296K miles on my 1992 F150 4X4 before I got rid of it back in February. Best vehicle I ever owned, and I HATED to get rid of it because it was so good to me over the years.

And you're right Wags- Hysters are DAMN good forklifts.

You are calling everyone else a sheep...haha

If I had a dime for everytime I heard a redneck say "If it aint american, then I aint drivin it"....well I would have atleast one of those badass yellow man cars.

Ford keeps cutting jobs and throwing them overseas. While Hyundai just built a plant not an hour from where I live. Which is the american car?

Keep telling yourself you are buying "american" but everything is international these days.

Rack the guy who saves thousands in initial cost and taxes for damn near the same car as the guy who might as well throw about 6 G's on the sidewalk and set it on fire because 14K is high mileage and used to him.

I've never had a problem finding a part for a jap car...ever.
I wouldn't know. Yet that is. I am seriously considering an all wheel drive Subaru my next time around the car purchasing block. If so, if would be the first non American car for me. However, I've seen my parents and brother drive Hondas and Toyotas for the last 15 years with very few repairs needed.

Anyway, feel free to resume bashing on Paul's Xenophobia.

Not all of the Toyotas but certain models are designed and built in the US strictly for North American consumers. All Lexus vehicles are still built in Japan but the majority of American sold Toyotas are US built.
Get into a Land Cruiser and then get in to Sequoia and you can quickly tell which one is built in the USA and which was built in Japan
