Donovan's gonzo. Once the Buccaneers hire Urban Meyer next year, we should be totally Trixie-free.

Please see the sig asshole.....
And it looks as though Donovan is going.
Terrible move......its for the money only since the list of failed college coaches is long and body bag filled.

i'd rather coach 4th grade girls than the NBA, but i guess the money is good.

I think that he's going to be okay. Not great, but okay. He'll exceed what should be the realistic expectations there, (challenge for the division, get homecourt for at least the first round of the playoffs, etc...) but he's not going to be a championship-caliber coach in Orlando.
Really, I just don't see the balance of power in the East shifting there... especially with them competing for "in-state" bragging rights with Dewayne Wade's Heat. Is he going to make Darco a better player? Is he going to cure what's ailing JJ Reddick? No, and no. Is he going to coach a more up-tempo game, playing to his team's strengths and weaknesses? Yes. Is that enough...?
Probably not, no.

So Florida basketball goes back in the shitter where it belongs. The only thing better will be when we find out that the reason he left was that Florida was being investigated for cheating, and they have to give their two trophies back.

I wouldn't go that far. I'm sure they will make a serious run at Anthony Grant, who served as Donovan's top assistant Donovan at UF. If they did hire him, then I am sure he'd recruit very well.Goober McTuber wrote:So Florida basketball goes back in the shitter where it belongs.

Grant is what i've read as well on some sites. i really liked that diamond 3/4 court trap VCU ran in the NCAA. when i was playing for the Norman High Tigers, we played a team in our conference (Putnam City North) that ran that....and you had to practice like hell to get ready for it.MuchoBulls wrote:I wouldn't go that far. like playing a wishbone team, you spent all your practice team getting ready for a one-off.

on a Sooner board they are saying that AD Foley will grant releases on the LOI, but not until they meet with the new coach. FWIW.MuchoBulls wrote:I would be interested to see if anyone in their recruiting decides that they want out of their letter of intent. I highly doubt that occurs, but you never know depending on who is hired.
edit: this an FSU poster reporting from what they are saying on a UF site. on the OU site. see? can't get more 3rd hand than that.

I hear rumors that Jai is back on the market but I also have to take in consideration where the rumors are originating as well...King Crimson wrote:on a Sooner board they are saying that AD Foley will grant releases on the LOI, but not until they meet with the new coach. Me too. The only reason I watch NBA at all is that my kid is suddenly into it in a huge way.King Crimson wrote:i'd rather coach 4th grade girls than the NBA,
Money would be reason enough to choose the NBA over 4th grade girls.but i guess the money is good.
But over college? I don't think so. The money will be very good at either level. Granted, it's better in the NBA, but at the level of money we're talking, it might as well be play money anyway. There's no way you could ever possibly burn through all of it.
