Let's Honor Tom Cruise: the offical really bad actors thread

Post by King Crimson »

outside of Tom Cruise playing Tom Cruise in every film he's in.

I nominate:

Andrew McCarthy: i dare you to go back and watch either Less Than Zero or Pretty in Pink. he's hilariously one dimensional. same smile, same punch me in the face doe eyes. and both of those movies suck out loud. sorry 80's nostalgia fans. some really bad acting in PinP (minus Harry Dean Stanton who seems real in this way that undermines the whole movie). and Less than Zero is horrible. Spader is the only thing in either that makes it worth watching....except the hilarious 80's chick hair. but even that is outdone by Laura Dern in Blue Velvet. every scene her hair is different, and bizarre.

Woody Harrelson. even sucks playing the lovable (or bad guy) knucklehead. Try watching "White Men Can't Jump" these days and give a shit that Rosie Perez leaves him.

Did you catch the flap about the German gov. preventing Tom from filming on German military bases because he is a Scientologist?

To me, this award should go to Kevin fucking Costner - let's call him Acts with Wooden Face.

Costner as the eternal Costner deserves consideration, fer shure.

the ethical/sideways character searching for his inner ethic and struggling to find the medium to do it....that was already inside him. turns out. and gets him "romance".

Germans permitting only members of approved religions to work? What could possibly go wrong with a policy like that?
I see nothing wrong with this policy.

Here's a MST 3K tribute to the man, the myth, the legend

Other bad actors to add:

- Brad Pitt
- Meg Ryan
- John Travolta
THE BIBLE - Because all the works of all the science cannot equal the wisdom of cattle-sacrificing primitives who thought every animal species in the world lived within walking distance of Noah's house.

Antonio Banderas.
""On a lonely planet spinning its way toward damnation amid the fear and despair of a broken human race, who is left to fight for all that is good and pure and gets you smashed for under a fiver? Yes, it's the surprising adventures of me, Sir Digby Chicken-Caesar!"

I'll toss a comedian into the mix. Billy Crystal. Never got that guy. I'd rank him somewhere ahead of Pauley Shore and right behind Howard the Duck.

My No. 1 pick.

Ever seen the alleged "accent" he was allowed to "perform" in Robin Hood? So bad, it's MST3K material.

In Hollywood, you deal with the Schul factor. Crystal always struck me as one of those guys who was talented at being well-connected, rather than being talented as an entertainer. Thus, he's the guy who we see in the silver screen, rather than someone who probably deserved it more from a comedic talent perspective.

Good. Except they flopped on that. But Germany is right to stick it to Scientology.

Tom Cruise has reportedly used his movies as recruitment centers for Scientology. The Germans weren't down for that. He's worse than a rabid born again, because Scientology isn't worried about your immortal soul, they're worried about your wallet.
on a short leash, apparently.
