I don't know. Probably someone who has a two year old at home who goes to bed at 8:00.

Would you rather we just left him home by himself while we travel all the way into downtown Houston and watch the fireworks live and in person? Or should we have just taken him with us and kept him up hours past his bedtime?

Either you don't have kids or you're fucking stupid. Or a combination of the two. I'll go with the latter.

Just another case of foreigners doing jobs Americans won't.

It's a good thing they were quiet about this Scot thing. South Boston would have erupted in fury had they known.

And in person, too.

Although this year's edition was a little lame. Maybe the fireworks got damp. The rain sorta sucked ass. Deece game at Fenway beforehand... the Sux came through even though they fielded a AAA line-up.

Did I mention the rain sorta sucked ass?

What's this ruckus about Scotty hosting a TV show?

Irish or Scot doesn't matter much, he's a Celt as opposed to one of those ranting Picts.

For some reason when you said "a Scot" I started thinking..."Roger the Shrubber, hosting the Pops? Ponderous."

No self respecting Irishman would dress like this.

Dude. It was a joke. He had the worst Irish accent I've ever heard attempted on the Big Screen.

Somehow, though, he was given an Oscar for his performance.

Well, Tom... it's up there. And a some of the "experts" seem to disagree with you.

Movie experts gave his attempt to play an Irish cop in the 1987 film "The Untouchables" -- which hardly concealed his strong Scottish burr -- top place in the poll by Empire movie magazine.

I'd have to say worst Irish accent goes to Tom Cruise in "Far and Away" and worst English accent goes to Kevin Costner in "Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves", where he just stopped doing it halfway through the film.

I guess the reason Kevin Costner didn't make that list for "Robin Hood" is because he didn't even try to do an accent.

You had 98% of the cast doing an English accent, Morgan Freeman with his best attempt as some North African accent and Costner sounding exactly like he did in No Way Out. Easily one of the worst actors of our generation.

Costner's accent (or lack of) was right up there with Tony Curtis in "The Black Shield of Falworth" where he looks down into the beautiful valley and proclaims..."Dis is da land of my faddah". Except in Curtis' case it was kind of funny. Costner is just lame.

Damn you Mike, you beat me to it.

Did you ever see the Mel Brooks movie "Robin Hood, Men in Tights"?
Prince John: And why should the people listen to you?
Robin Hood (Cary Elwes): Because, unlike some other Robin Hoods, I can speak with an English accent.

Any discussion of bad Irish accents in the movies should include Marlon Brando in “The Missouri Breaks”.

Any discussion of other bad accents in the movies should include John Wayne playing Genghis Khan.

You're wrong about Costner. He tries to do an English accent in the beginning of the movie and then just inexplicably switches to regular American english. Anywho...

Yeah, I saw Robin Hood: Men in Tights. Thought it was gawd-awful. There's plenty of good Brooks movies, but I didn't care for that one at all.

He's a big donator to the Scottish Nationalist Party, even though he, er, lives in Spain as a tax exile.

Oh, and Costner was at the British premiere for Prince Of Thieves, that was held in Nottingham. He was laughed out of the building by the first reel as soon as he opened his mouth.
