Smackaholic had her and now he has 16 pts, which includes the bonus.

I'm so happy for him and so sorry for the other Bird family.

She is revered in Texas, no matter one's political stripe.

Ladybird was truly a cool person. She was from a generation when women were told to sit down and shut up, and she made time while standing by her man to make a difference in what she cared about. And that was conservation, highway beautification, and wildflowers. And she did it really well. Yes, she had power behind her, but how many people with power behind them don't do things well? Many.

My hubbie and I were having a discussion about her tonight, and we decided that in respect...every time that we get pissed off at each other in a discussion and jokingly flip each other off, we will now call it the "ladybird".

She was 94 years old when she died yesterday. The woman was grace in action, never tried to pull attention to herself or her family, but used her influence to get things done that she felt were important to do. A very private person that could have been way more public, but she chose to put her efforts into what she cared about, and doing it her own way. I respect that. Especially from a woman from that generation.

RIP, Ladybird.

Aww shucks, who cares.

Thanks for the imagery, Ang.

pop,

Guess I was asleep when the rules thing was going on. Not like I would actually pay attention or anything.
