South Africa Continues Its Downward Spiral

Here's the problem bob. For whatever fukking reason black folks are not, as reggie would say, gifted in the art of governing.

Call this a racist statement if you will. It is just an honest observation. I remember as a young kid talking to my gramps about things in apartheid south africa. As an ignorant kid, I thought it was pretty fukked up. Gramps, being a wise old white dude said, yeah, it's fukked up, but, unfortunately, that's the way it has to be, because those fukks just aren't capable of self rule. It will all go to shit if they try it. He pointed out that there was approximately zero countries on the face of the earth where they had suceeded in anything close to a successful democracy.

Maybe he was on to something.

Here in the US we don't have to implement fukked up things as existed under apartheid because, basically, we still outnumber you guys.

What will happen there? I don't know, but, things are undoubtedly going to hell very quickly. South Africa is a few years behind Zimbabwe, but, they are definitely heading to the same place, a completely broken down clusterfuck.

Maybe something can change. Maybe they'll take a look in the mirror and realize something needs to change, but, the smart money sure as hell ain't betting that way.

Well now, that all depends on your definition of successful, doesn't it?

My idea of successful would be a place where you have a reasonable level of freedom, can walk down the street without fearing for your life (in most neighborhoods, anyway) and have the rule of law practiced by a fairly large majority of the population.

Unfortunately, none of this is the case in any country with a black majority, to my knowledge.

About the only places where this does exist happen to be run by white euro types or a small number of asian countries.

I've got not problem with this. But if your definition is enrichment of youself, your family and your friends at the expense of your countrymen, and the extermination of political opponents and rival tribes, then there have been lots of successes.
