From what I've read, high-def radio is a digital signal rather than analog. It's supposed to make FM sound like CDs and AM sound like FM. I haven't heard it, so I don't know first-hand.
As long as the radio broadcasts are synched with TV, it's all good. Being able to mute blabbering jackasses like Jim Nance and listen to guys actually calling the game is what's important here.

Jim Nance isn't the only alleged TV "announcer" that annoys me. Cuntsburger is just as bad on the college side.
RACK Westwood One. RACK the Chiefs Network. RACK the Cowboy Network.

Or better yet, go to a bar and watch the game with a bunch of screaming drunks and don't worry about the damn announcers because you can't hear them anyway.RadioFan wrote:From what I've read, high-def radio is a digital signal rather than analog. Nothing but a red "X" over here too. I guess Tejas PCs have sloped foreheads as well. :D
Fuck High def radio. Why pay for something you can get for free?
War the Sirius NFL schedule, which features about 80% of the games played, plus you get to hear your hometown broadcast. If you're on the road on the weekends like we tend to be a lot during the fall/winter months, it completely kicks ass to get to listen to the Niners, especially since their games are hardly ever shown on national tv.

I am too much of a channel flipper to have a radio running in the background. Furthermore, I am watching the game as it unfolds... I don't need some jagoff on the radio detailing exactly what I am seeing. I "get it."
I like Easiason as an analyst, so Westwood One is cool on the rare occasion I am returning home on a Sunday night from a weekend spent away in CT, but other than that... ??
Whatever.

I had the red X as well. I copied the properties of the picture into the Explorer address line, the picture showed up, now I see it in the thread as it’s probably pulling it from my cache. Not worth the effort, BTW.

Esiason is always good for a couple "when i played in the Super Bowl......." comments per broadcast. though, on radio you miss the sculpted Spock eyebrow thing he has going on to make him look "incisive" and intellectual.ucantdoitdoggieSTyle2 wrote:

I don't need you to start a thread to let me that Sunday night football is... somewhere on my radio dial. I don't need you to tell me... what games are on... or what fucking time they start. Just how in the fuck did I KMOA? Your thread was pointless.
Wow. Thanks for the fucking newsflash, douchenozzle. I look forward to your next useless thread detailing the nationally televised games... that are....on some TV network or another.RadioFan wrote:Football is broadcast somewhere on your fucking AM dial.
And the Sunday day games?ucantdoitdoggieSTyle2 wrote:For that EXACT reason, you say?RadioFan wrote:Exactly why I started this thread, Ucunt.ucantdoitdoggieSTyle2 wrote:Westwood One is cool on the rare occasion I am returning home on a Sunday night from a weekend spent away in CT

Some of us aren't spending our time in the casinos all day, and actually listen to the games. Yeah, the games, you know, the actual COMPETITION, on the FIELD?
And no, I didn't start this thread for "for that EXACT reason," you fucking gambling degenerate fuckstain.
I started it for those who actually enjoy being able to mute the goddamn TV announcers.
And I look forward to more of your chiming in about how you actually don't listen to what's going on, on the field. Jackass.ucunt wrote:I look forward to your next useless thread detailing the nationally televised games... that are....on some TV network or another.
In other words, you're an idiot bandwaggoning spread sheet whore, with no loyalty, nor no real appreciation for the game. Nice going, douchepuppet.ucunt wrote:I am too much of a channel flipper to have a radio running in the background.

Go try and weasel into your next pregame parlay and fuck off. This is the NFL forum -- with posters who actually care about the games more than the spread -- not the channel flipper forum, bored polo boy.

So what you're saying is... the games are on the radio, much like they have been since the 19 fucking 30s? That's it? If you can find me one poster on this board who wasn't aware of that... I'll leave you alone. Until then, I will continue to ridicule you for posting spam.RadioFan wrote:I started it for those who actually enjoy being able to mute the goddamn TV announcers.
Spreadsheet? Wow, I can't imagine where you got this from. I loathe the spreadsheet. Everyone here knows that. I am sure this made sense to you about the same time you accused me of being both a channel flipper and someone who spends my Sundays at a casino. Flail away much?RadioFan wrote:In other words, you're an idiot bandwaggoning spread sheet whore, with no loyalty, nor no real appreciation for the game. Nice going, douchepuppet.
Furthermore, you do realize with the advent of television and its accompanying remote control device... it is possible to watch other games instead of suffering through commercials, right?
Lastly, to repeat, I don't need some asshat to tell me what is going on during the game I am watching. Unlike you, I know all of the players, coaches, injuries, and key match-ups. I rarely learn anything from some talking head. I enjoy watching the game unfold before me. I enjoy the visual aspect of it. Everything else is just noise. You're such a colassal dumbfuck, I am quite sure you need some announcer to tell who's carrying the ball, who just made the catch, who just made the tackle, and when to get excited. Those are things that chicks need to get through a game. Are you a chick, RadioFan?
Or are you just as retarded as your late night posts read?
Westwood One doesn't broadcast every game, you fucking idiot.ucantdoitdoggieSTyle2 wrote:So what you're saying is... the games are on the radio, much like they have been since the 19 fucking 30s?
And if you know for sure that no one on this board has ever muted the TV for a national radio broadcast, then I'll quit referring to you as a shallow excuse for a fan who has no appreciation for the art of play-by-play.That's it? If you can find me one poster on this board who wasn't aware of that... I'll leave you alone.
There's a reason why ESPN does a radio highlight segment during every week of "NFL Primetime," and a reason why radio broadcasts are used during NFL Films' Greatest Games. Of course, you probably have no appreciation for that either, but I know some here do.
Sure thing, Mr. Visual.Until then, I will continue to ridicule you for posting spam.

Who gives a fuck? Do you really think anyone needs your help finding it on the AM dial? Not everyone here is as clueless as you are. Seriously Radio, I can't wait for your next spam-filled thread about the upcoming NFL TV schedule. I need to plan my Sundays around it. Post it, Radio, post it!RadioFan wrote:Westwood One doesn't broadcast every game, you fucking idiot..
I see... so, if you find one person as slow as you, then it proves your point? Is that type of shit you think you're gonna shovel? The play by play doesn't work in football, tard. There's too many people moving way too fast at the same time to do it any justice. This is not baseball where you have one guy manned up against one other guy. Things happen faster than some asshat is capable of verbally processing.RadioFan wrote:And if you know for sure that no one on this board has ever muted the TV for a national radio broadcast, then I'll quit referring to you as a shallow excuse for a fan who has no appreciation for the art of play-by-play.
I am gonna guess that it's more cost efficient to just pay for the video feed and dub in some radio guy. There might be copyright laws involved. Maybe you can only hear Madden's voice on the network the game was broadcast on. I don't know... or maybe, just maybe, there's way more tards out there like you who need to hear the excitement of the homer's version of the play in order to get you rocks off. Let me know, Radio... enlighten me with actual proof and stuff.RadioFan wrote:There's a reason why ESPN does a radio highlight segment during every week of "NFL Primetime," and a reason why radio broadcasts are used during NFL Films' Greatest Games. You seriously aren't this slow are you?ucantdoitdoggieSTyle2 wrote:Do you really think anyone needs your help finding it on the AM dial?
I'll try to explain this to you as the visual simpleton you are, so try reading slowly this time.
Not everyone lives within listening distance of their favorite teams' radio network. Given that not even you nor Tardowen are defending TV announcers, it's pretty much a given that they suck.
The reason I posted the schedule was for people living in another part of the country who may want to listen to an alternative call to the game for their team ... i.e.:
See, HH wrote that because Tony Kornheiser fucking BLOWS, and with the particular game he was referencing on Westwood One, it gives him a different call of the game. GET IT?Headhunter wrote:RACK.
Fuck off Kornheiser.
There's too many people moving way too fast at the same time to do it any justice. Things happen faster than some asshat is capable of verbally processing.
Guess again, Mr. Insightful. (and it's cost-efficient, dumbass)I am gonna guess that it's more cost efficient to just pay for the video feed and dub in some radio guy.
For which NFL team is Westwood One the "homer" network?... just maybe, there's way more tards out there like you who need to hear the excitement of the homer's version of the play in order to get you rocks off.
Btw, somehow, I missed this gem:
Actually, most women I've dated don't like football radio play-by-play, and want the TV on because they don't understand what the fuck is going on. They generally need simpletons on TV to draw for them what just happened. Those are things that chicks need to get through a game. Are you a chick, RadioFan?
Sound familiar?
You go, boy.

Who the fuck said there was any? We were discussing the "radio calls" tards like you need playing as background noise when you see game highlights. I've seen ESPN highlights a time or two. Most often, they'll pump in the local radio guy's voice to describe the play being highlighted. It's a "homer" call. No one said anything about Westwood One. Not me anyways, but I understand your confusion with the beating you've taken thus far in this thread.RadioFan wrote:For which NFL team is Westwood One the "homer" network?

Get a fucking clue... these skanks are fucking pissed off because your idea of "taking them out" is listening to the game whilst tooling around the plains of Olkabraska in your 1973 Pacer with the sweet AM radio and its .27 watts/channel "system." I bet at halftime, you stop at the nearest K-Mart drive thru and stuff a $0.29 burger down their throats. And that's a "date."RadioFan wrote:....dated don't like football radio play-by-play, and want the TV on because they don't understand what the fuck is going on.
I get it now, you can't afford a TV. ROCK ON, Radio, ROCK ON!
Try again, DrDetroit taintlicker. We were discussing the "radio calls" tards like you need playing as background noise when you see game highlights.

Nice stereotyping. You forgot to mention the trailer and shooting off .38s in celebration when the announcer yells "TOUCHDOWN," followed by shots of moonshine and Lone Star chasers.
For someone who doesn't like radio play-by-play, you sure sound like a Ucunt, err, a chick to me.I get it now, you can't afford a TV.
What?? NFL on the radio? Ewwwwww! Get it off! Get it off!
Quite possibly the biggest display of faggotry this side of SissyCrown.
But hey, no worries. You probably wait all season for the announcement of SB halftime show, given how "visual," it is. And hey, how 'bout that Scooter on Fox? He sure was a cute visual character, wasn't he?
And oh, let's not forget the telestrator. That's a pretty amazingly awesome thing too. After all, in your words:
You're right. Those illustrations are so insightful.I enjoy the visual aspect of it.
Seems to me that you do, given that you actually seem to enjoy subjecting yourself to everything about the game, as long as its on TV.I don't need some asshat to tell me what is going on during the game
Excellent job.

Yes, Radio... I enjoy the visual aspect of it. For the last GD time, the announcers and whatever gimmicks they employ are useless to me. Let me break this down for you::::
Who has the best NFL fan experience, you (listening to the game) me (watching the game and not really paying any attention to the announcers)

THE FUCKING PEOPLE ACTUALLY AT THE GAME SANS ANY FUCKING COMMENTARY WHATSOEVER FROM RADIO OR TV GUY????
Football is visual candy, you braindead fuck. If you really need someone in your ear telling you how to eat the candy, then you're a pathetic excuse for a fan.
