other than the obvious answer (hand plays football), why does derrell hand not get booted from school after entering a diversion program for soliciting a hooker, but when kyle mcalarney enters a diversion program for being busted with a burning blunt, he gets booted from school and the alumni try to pull the "codebook of conduct" (he should have known better) hypocritical bullshit?
whatever the name of the code of conduct is, i know terry's mentioned it before. if the honest answer is "becuase he plays football," then fine. just another reason why i feel kyle mac got a raw deal from school, especially when hand is busy out playing grabass with the local trash on the west side of SB.

holy shit, i never pondered the fact they would expel him. but i don't think school was in session last year when kyle mac got busted. that was after the rider game and that was in late december.Killian wrote:Hand will actually face a stiffer penalty and will be expelled for good. ResLife will make that decision once school is back in session.
and yes, toejam, clausen is in the diversion program as well.

Get your fucking story straight. No where in that hack job did it say he was buying or consuming the alcohol. He was driving the car for someone who bought it. And in Indiana, if the person buying it isn't your parent, it's illegal.SoCalTrjn wrote:Isn't Jimmy Clausen in the diversion program as well for buying alcohol in June?
And KMac had to wait for school to resume before ResLife made their decision.
With Hand I'm hearing conflicting things. I'm hearing kicked out of school and I'm hearing 2 game suspension. We'll see.

i don't know much about the particulars and nothing abotu how it works at ND but committees like this often only meet during the academic calendar year.....particularly if they are composed of students as peer judges or referees. this is the way the Honor Code stuff works at both Colorado and the University of Denver (D-1 hockey powerhouse, rich kid school).Killian wrote:

I've heard only really cursory things about Hand and I honestly don't know what the decision will be. Killian is right, though -- no final decision has been made yet.
McAlarney will be reinstated this year, IIRC. Many (including me) have already said that the penalty he received was too stiff.
Btw, ND's student handbook is called Du Lac. That's part of ND's official name, which is the University of Notre Dame Du Lac (translates as Our Lady of the Lake).
