That's not exactly going out on a limb... most sites list them as a 2/1, I've heard others where they are listed at 8/5. They are the prohibitive favorites to win the Super Bowl. I'm fairly certain there hasn't been a bigger pre-season favorite to win it all. Ever.

Shoalzie, I am very disappointed that you slated the Texans for a 3-13 season. I like you, but I just wanted you to know that you cut me deep, man.

The Lions have the benefit of playing in the worst division in football, and a fairly soft schedule.Shoalzie wrote:Chris Mortensen wrote:Most Improved: Lions

They just IR'd Daniel Bullocks...the secondary becomes even thinner now. They've got two solid run-stoppers on the interior of the defensive the line (barring Shaun Rogers actually plays) but the linebackers are injury-prone and they lack a true middle linebacker and the secondary is undersized and not very talented. Teams will be able to throw the ball on them much like the Colts did in that preseason game this past Saturday. The Lions will score points and could be one of the highest scoring teams in the league but I see them also probably being one of the worst teams in the points allowed category as well.

RumpleForeskin wrote:That is all well and good you explaining Detroit's season, but what is the validity to your prediction of the Texans finishing 3-13.
I went through the entire NFL schedule and you ended up with only 3 wins...that's about it.
I'm probably being a little too harsh on your guys but I've probably got 12 teams with at least 10 wins and 10 teams with 5 or fewer wins...I'm willing to bet in those two groups I have teams I'm underrating and overrating. I feel most confident about that group in the middle. I think I hit 9 or 10 teams on the nose as far as their records are concerned last season...that means I'm dead wrong on at least 2/3 of the league. Your Texans are probably going to be in that group. Do you honestly care that much what a meat head like me thinks about your team?

And I especially dismiss you thoughts when you predict Irving to go to the Super Bowl right after they get owned in every area of the game by the team you predict to go 3-13.
But hey, it was just preseason right? The #1 squads being on the field most of the game was irrelevant. Even more irrelevant was the 'Pokes leaving their 1s in for 2 series longer than the 3-13 team and losing ground to the 3-13 teams #2s.
So yeah, very little to care about. Especially when you are too dumb to realize that YOUR team likely WILL be one of the most improved teams in the NFC if for no other reason than they very well might be able to score at will.
I love the smell of myopia in the late summer
