What is this "threat" to our interests that necessitates any part of this catastrophic disaster in Iraq?

The primary threat that Saddam represented was that his regional ambitions were in direct conflict with our interests in Kuwait and Saudi Arabia.

Had he been content to simply stay at home and butcher his own, we would have been equally content to buy his product, but he couldn't leave well enough alone, so he had to go.

What ludicrous bullshit! Ten years out of Kuwait, Saddam was going NOWHERE. He was threatening NO ONE. He was staying home, and was butchering NO ONE. Sure, after the U.S. urged uprising, he quelled a seccession (just like Lincoln, but with a lower body count).

Our invasion of Iraq has been an unmitigated disaster--militarily, morally, economically, and geo-politically.
