CEN-CAL coastal visit

Since many of you are going on or have been on vacation, I thought I'd show a few pics on my last visit with the folks... Some of these pics are at nearby Point Lobos State Park. It was foggy over there as it is when the Valley hits over 100 degrees. That day it was 108 in Fresneck. Other pics are at a few of the golf courses that surround where the folks live. It is 0.3 miles from their house to the water. MPCC, Cypress Pt., Poppy Hills, and Spanish Bay are all within walking distance.

I took a few hundred pics with my new camera but will submit these.

Damn Roach, how old are you? We used to do the same thing growing up on the fucking Peninsula (Palo Alto to be exact). We'd drive up into the hills around La Honda and camp in the woods or go down the other side and trip out on the beach. Maybe I saw you at San Gregorio or Pomponio Beach back when there was absolutely nofuckingbody else around there.

No fishing or drugs on this trip...

San Gregorio is a really nice place. I used to go there when I was stationed at NAS Moffett. You go over to the 280 then take the Woodside exit and it was 40 minutes of the windiest road to get over to the beach.

The Pebble Beach down to the Big Sur area is always a good trip. It was too foggy to go down to the Bixby bridge which is in all of those commercials and movies. I was going to go to La Ventana for lunch and take great pictures from up the hill, but the fog was too much and not worth the hassle.

The thing about Pt. Lobos is you can park on the side of Highway 1 and walk the little over half mile in w/o paying the $7 park entry fee. Anyway, wasn't really a vacation as it was just me visiting the folks for about a week. Hearing all of the stories of those here that have been on vacations or checking out new spots gave me the idea to share my week away from 100+ degrees... whatever.

I spent a week at the central cali coast last week and have about 180 pics to display. I was wearing a fleece top most of the time. I'll post pics in a new thread in a few days.
