I think the ACC is the winner here...did you think of researching that? Are you basing it on this year alone? Or overall?
ACC has 1 BCS win since the inception of the BCS
ACC has a hard time winning out of conference games (just this weekend alone) plus other weekends
ACC teams annually get out to strong starts (see Clemson last year 7-1) then melt...
you sure you really want to lump the Big 10 in with that? I mean ask Arkansas how good Wisconsin is...ask UT how good PSU is...yeah tOSU lost the MNC game but hey when was the last time an ACC team got to the title game? And don't include Miami, Va Tech...they were in the Big East...last time was FSU in what 2000...many a team from SEC, PAC 10, Big 12 and Big 10 have played for the marbles and gotten multiple BCS teams in and won multiple BCS games...
you might want to rethink...

It's more than that. Granted, the season is still very early, but Wisconsin struggled mightily against UNLV. tOSU had a baseball score at halftime of their game against Akron.Shoalzie wrote:Don't lump the whole conference in with Michigan's ineptitude...
OTOH, of course, every team is going to have at least one sub-par game during the course of a season. Better to have it against one of the bottom-feeders, since you have a better chance of coming out of the game with a W regardless.
But when Sparty has been one of the conference's more impressive teams so far . . .

I was around these parts when I had ron zook roaming the sidelines....I was here with SOS....on the first SCIII. I have always posted win or lose contrary to what some people would have you believe.Sky wrote:Yeah yeah, funny how you are here now, running your mouth. Mace,Mace wrote:I agree that the Big 10 is down this year and has no great team that will compete for the national title....just like the vast majority of other BCS conferences. Ohio State is young and will get better, Wisconsin and PSU are the two team to beat in the conference, IMO, and there are a few others, including Iowa and Michigan State, that will make a run for the title if they can beat either of those two teams. I also don't think there's any cause for concern about the future of the Big 10. I seem to remember a lot of folks whinin' about the "weak Big 10" a few years ago when tOSU ended up winning the title so, while the conference might be down a little this year, they'll be back near the top of the heap soon enough.

I pretty much agree with everything you said. And I've been following college football long enough to know that down periods are cyclical. I wouldn't read anything into the Big Ten being down this year beyond this season.
As for why Trixie feels otherwise, it seems that he has some need to slam every conference other than the SEC.

In 2005, PSU's offense started very slowly with Robinson at QB. The offense seems ahead of that year just a bit after two games, and the defense is pretty much on fire. That comparison is finding me me quite hopeful for this season.

And since we're all hyping up our teams and shit...
Mich St was picked to finish at or near the bottom of the B10 from just about every media source. Going into E. Lansing and leaving with a W won't be so easy, I don't think. It seems the offense clicked in the offseason, and it's really showing on the field. They have a running game similar to what Minny had back when Barber and Maroney were there. The secondary, which was one of the worst in D1 last year (possibly THE worst) has even stepped up significantly.

Funny how most people in here don’t think we should start ranking teams until October, but TWAT REX is quite comfortable ranking whole conferences when some teams have only played one game.

What’s USC’s record, bitch? How about Arkansas, you bleeding cunt? And how about you address the point that it's still awfully early to be ranking conferences, you wet-brained fucktard.
